These are great overall. It keeps my newborn occupied for a solid 5 to 10 minutes. Which is a lot for a newborn. He looks at them during tummy time as well. They have a silky touch to them and a slim cushion on the inside so they are soft to the touch. They not only help stimulate the baby but they help me talk to him more as I am not a great random talker, because what do you say to a baby. But show a card and have fun describing the real thing or a real memory having to do with the picture. Its a great way to interact and they love to hear our voices. There are a couple of pictures that are weird and we skip those, like one that I think is a sports bell, maybe. I haven't had to wash them but it seems like they are fine to wipe down with a damp cloth. I would not submerge them in water.

The husband love them because he realizes that we can use these slate until he is older. These have pictures of things, animals, food and etc. My braniac husband told me one day "we can play with him when he is older 'get 3 picture that are food' 'get 3 picture that are vehicle' ".
It's light and easy to clean. My boy spend more time playing with it now, staring at them and being familiarize with it. I can't wait when he can talk and understand and follow instructions.
