Looks good and can handle plenty of CD's, DVD's, and VHS tapes. Slightly unbalanced (top heavy) on the carpet, so I needed to put plastic shims to help stabilize it.
Perfect for our CD’s.

Perfect solution for our CD collection. Easy to assemble and looks great. Highly recommended.

Having already owned the white, three-columned version of this tower for over four years, I knew I liked it a lot. Believe it or not, I have pretty much filled up the three-columned version. The single provides the extra space I needed, while perfectly matching the existing shelf.
This shelf can be put together in less than an hour, especially if you have two people. Two people are not required, however. The directions are extremely easy to follow. Take special care to read the notes thoroughly, as following them will ensure the tower is assembled correctly. This will prolong the life of the shelf.
You may have read comments about the actual shelves being flimsy. They are. They're not meant to hold anything beyond the designated media. I store CDs, blu-rays and DVDs. If only storing these, one should never need to worry about the shelves breaking. They can handle the weight.
The only ding I have against these shelves and I have had this issue with the three-columned unit, is that they do indeed begin to sag over time. Improper assembly will certainly worsen this, but I now for a fact I assembled mine perfectly. It takes several years for this to begin to occur. I recommend turning the shelves every year or so.
I cannot recommend this unit enough to someone looking for a cost effective, easy to assemble and very nice looking media storage unit. We have ours in the family/living room and they look fantastic. Eventually, I'll likely end up purchasing another. Very glad Amazon has these.
PROS:
-Look
-Cost
-Ease of Assembly
-Capacity for Media
CONS:
-Flimsy Shelves

Convenient, affordable media tower

I don't do many reviews, but felt compelled because the current negative reviews focused on 'flimsiness' almost convinced me not to buy. It may not be the absolute sturdiest, but if you need a tall, narrow Media Tower that holds lots of CD's, you won't find any better out there for the price. I agree w/ the earlier review suggesting that following instructions to "lock in" shelves may help. In fact, any shelf bowing or flimsiness is actually less of an issue than the blocking of shelf space by overhanging side-edging strips, also noted by the same reviewer.
