DRO works like it should and measures accurately. Setup is pretty straight forward, the instructions provided do not have anything on installation but Google and YouTube will get you by. The brackets provided will probably need to be modified and all hardware is metric.

Essential addition to a Mini Mill

The ToAuto DRO has been an essential addition to my Little Machine Shop 3990 Mini Mill. I purchased the 150mm (y-axis), 300mm (z-axis), and 350mm (x-axis) glass scales. With carefully thought out installation, this DRO has performed flawlessly! It makes machining on the mini mill very easy because there is no need to lay out feature dimensions on a workpiece. Using a simple edge finder, spot drill, and the DRO; positions for drilled and bored holes are extremely easy. Milled features are simple to accomplish as well. I used the DRO to machine several parts for a power feed on the x-axis. This project required the precise machining of three mounting plates so that there is exact alignment of the components when assembled to the mill table. The ToAuto DRO made the process easy and accurate. Also, the custom ordering process went smoothly and customer service was terrific. I highly recommend ToAuto DROs.

I ordered longer lengths than needed. The scales are easily cut with a metal band saw (glass included!).
You won't get installation instructions which makes sense - who knows what machine you've got. The little red spacers are just that. Leave them in until everything is bolted down and then pull them out.
Took a day to install and they appear to work just perfectly.

Display failed after having for 6 months

After having the unit running for 5 months the display will no longer do the startup self check. Upon applying power to the unit, after 3-5 seconds part of the display will flash for less than a second without the start up beeps. Waiting on seller contact get options to fix or replace. Followed the trouble shooting guide (if you can call it that) in the back of the manual without any change. Work good... while it was working.
After a several weeks of waiting for components and testing, in the end the seller replaced the display. Just waiting for new display. +1 star for now.
