The American Standard Slim Line 1.25HP Food Waste Disposer (purchased from Costco) designed sink drain/splash guard is terrible. It restricted drainage flow by a lot compared to what I experienced with the InSinkErator Badger 5. My home came originally the InSinkErator Badger 5, but it died after ~8 years of usage. The splash guard from the InSinkErator Badger 5 was a bit worn out, so I used the one that was included from the American Standard. Unfortunately, this splash guard that came with the American Standard has terrible flow, not efficient at all. Decided to look for something better and looked like reviews from others stated that this splash guard is suitable to replace the American Standard Slim Line 1.25HP Food Waste Disposer splash guard. The problem with the American Standard Slim Line 1.25HP garbage disposal is that it's way more powerful than the Badger 5, but it also causes a lot bigger splashes. I tested the water faucet on and no splash guard, water just splashed everywhere. So, the original Badger 5 splash guard was not able to prevent water from splashing up out of the sink. This product here, though, did stop water from splashing out of the sink. It also allows water to flow down the drain much faster (normal rate!) than what the Amercian Standard splash guard did. It is no different in preventing silverwares from falling through the guard, but food flows down the drain easily (yay). I'm happy to be washing dishes, hands, or anything that needs proper cleaning in the kitchen sink now. Highly recommended.

This is the perfect replacement gasket. I bought two others that necessitated removing the garbage disposal and placing the gasket onto the top of it before reinstalling. This one can be installed by pushing it down into the opening from the top. No uninstall necessary!! Two second installation! Perfect fit!
