Nostalgia for Lunch!
A Reasonable Opinion✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 25, 2024
Nostalgia and Oscar Mayer fandom aside, this sandwich maker does it's job perfectly. I haven't used the "cooler" bag but I'm confident it will serve it's intended purpose well. The sandwich maker itself sports the Oscar color scheme and makes sandwiches in a minute or two tops. Cleanup is nice and easy with the non stick interior. I really like that this maker is smaller in that it only makes one sandwich at a time, as opposed to the bigger two sandwich makers. This makes it easier to store and keep clean. A lunchtime favorite for years to come.
Kitchen favorite! Perfect size for a 6-inch quesadilla.

I have a son who loves chicken quesadillas. I got tired of buying them from a restaurant every time his little heart desired it, so I went on the hunt for a quesadilla maker. I looked at several and decided on this one due to the reviews, price, and size.

We have mainly used this to make quesadillas using 6-in flour or corn tortillas, but it would also be great to make hot sandwiches. We heat this sandwich/quesadilla maker for approximately 4-5 minutes, then we spray it with a light oil. Adding the tortillas and ingredients inside of the tortillas is a breeze. It takes approximately 4-5 minutes for the quesadilla to be done, and you will have yourself a perfect quesadilla.

I may order a larger one in the future, but this is perfect for us at the moment.

Oh, before I forget...this is so easy to clean. I believe you will feel like this was a good buy!
Portability

This Nostalgia skillet is so much more than a skillet. I call it my personal skillet and crock pot, but for a single person. In other words expect one serving size per meal. But, if you're looking to just cook for yourself, its perfect for an office, tour bus, road trip, college dotm, hotel or AirBnB stay, car, or any small space even the kitchen.

It's easy to use, but the portability and versatility are what made it a keeper for me. It's small enough to fit in a purse or packback, but expect to be able to cook a single egg, pancake, shrimp, brocoli, fried food, boil water, you name it. I really like this handy gadget. It hasn't replaced my need for an air fryer, but for my personal use, it's just what I need.

The possibilities of cooking with this thing are endless. I'm not a paid reviewer at all, so trust me, I'm passing on a great small kitchen appliance idea for single people who need a personal and portable cooking device. If you're homeless or have limited cooking resources, it will work wonders. The price I paid for it is unbelievable.

You definitely want to add this to your collection if you like small cooking gadgets. I've only had it a week, but if something does happen to it, I would be looking for another one. Thanks Nostalgia.

I bought this little cooker for a couple of reasons, primarily to cook an egg for my young granddaughter when she wants one and to cook simple ramen without having to get out and then clean a bigger pan. It seems to work well for both of these applications and many others. The specifics include:

- takes about 4-5 minutes to heat up in the "grill" mode and the blue indicator light will go out when it's at full temperature. The grill looks like it's non-stick, but it's not really. Just add a quick spray of cooking spray and it works great. You can make fried over eggs, sunnyside up eggs, or scrambled eggs easily. I suppose you can also make easy poached eggs with the pan mode, but I haven't tried that. The unit is too small to immerse a full egg to make hard boiled eggs.

- the pan only holds a bit more than one cup of water to cook the ramen in when the ramen is added, but that's fine for my tastes. It takes about 9-10 minutes to heat the water to boiling, but it develops a rapid boil from then on and cooks the ramen well.

Note that:
- there is no on-off switch, so you just plug it in to cook
- the cord is less than two feet long, so you'll need to be near your electrical outlet
- there is no temperature control adjustment, so once it's fully hot, it's going to stay there. The heating will cycle on and off itself when it reaches full temperature, but I'm not able to tell how hot that is. Based on the speed that it cooks eggs, I would say the full heat temperature is probably nearly 350-400 degrees F.

Overall, I think it's a versatile simple device that saves cleaning bigger pans when they are not necessary and I look forward to trying new things to cook in it.
