This is REAL furniture. You have to assemble it, but when your done its like...real furniture.

This cabinet was exactly what I was looking for but some of the reviews about putting it together had me worried. Took the plunge anyway and I'm very glad I did. Since I've never put anything together like this before and i was doing it all by myself I was careful to take my time. Most of the instructions (in picture form) were fairly clear, setting up each piece with the hardware needed before putting together. Instructions become a little unclear when assembling because one the pieces doesn't have you set up beforehand which needs done. Getting all the pieces lined up and together is a little tricky, but I managed on my own. I didn't bother gluing door shelves on brackets in case I wanted to remove some later but they are staying in fine. Putting the drawers together was the hardest for me, mainly because I made a mess with the wood glue, which I purchased extra of just in case. Says to put drawers together last but I suggest doing them first, giving the glue time set as you put together cabinet.

This is exactly was I was looking for. It was pretty easy assemble but did take time. It's definitely sturdy. And by sturdy I mean heavy. My only "complaint" is that the glue given to put the drawers together. Sucks. It does t hold properly to I have two drawers I need to redo with better glue. Also, the back corner of 2 drawers came chipped. Not a big deal. You can't see them, it doesn't affect anything and definitely wasn't worth the hassle of taking it down to return and get another unit.

I first starting looking at this piece about two years ago but at that time the unit in black was not available. Numerous times I put it in my "cart" but couldn't bring myself to his the purchase key. Reading the reviews made me hesitate time and again. It is the design and size of the cabinet which I found to be perfect and after not finding anything else to compare, finally purchased it. Now, like most everybody, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. More of a coloring book at that. They refer to the pieces by alphabet but many of the pieces were not "stamped" or if they were could not be read. Most of the build at home furniture I have purchased before (mainly items by Sauder) had peel off stickers on each piece which would make it easier. Also, when the instructions "show" you a part that goes here....you are suppose to know it also goes in other places. I actually ended up with two of the metal screw in stems that are used to join two pieces. Whether they were extra or I missed them.....who knows. I did not find it as hard to put together as others have written, taking just short of 4 hours to complete except for the drawers. The glue that they provide is useless for getting into all the groves in each of the drawers. Do yourself a favor and buy some Elmer's Wood Glue and have it on hand. Will make gluing the drawers and all those wood dowels so much easier. I purchased this item mainly to "hide" all my DVD's and look nice too.....it fits the bill!

I love this cabinet. My husband and I are movie buffs and have collected a large amount of dvds over the years. They were scattered across our living room on 4 different book cases. I've been looking for awhile for a nice cabinet that can store all these antiques. This cabinet held the largest number of dvds that I could find. It's hard to put together. The instructions are easy to follow but there's a lot of them. It will take awhile because it is literally a book of instructions. It is very sturdy, especially once the dvds are inside. Make sure the cabinet is placed where you want because once it's filled you will not be able to move it. I thought one door was wonky but it turned out one pesky dvd was an odd size preventing the door from shutting properly. Although it doesn't fit all our dvds it fits almost all of them. Our living room looks more organized and less cluttered. I love this cabinet and highly recommend it.
