Assembly is definitely a chore here as I knew it would be and the directions are only good if you're good at looking at pictures and figuring things out yourself. If you need to be spoon-fed every step you're gonna be miserable. The worst piece is the ornamental part right below the top lid. Relied on wedging wooden rods into a gap that would not force easily and ended up causing internal damage and needing to be wood glued and clamped.
That being said, I got everything completed, even the lock, and it looks and works great. Just be ready to tackle a big project.

Seems good so far

After reading previous reviews from people claiming it took them 9 hours to put this cabinet together I was a little nervous to tackle this project. I am no expert at these things but I am capable of following instructions. The intructions are pretty clear. If you follow them correctly and pay attention its about a 3 hour build start to finish. Clearly some people are not inclined to put stuff like this together. Anazon does offer installation. I have yet to test this with movies in it but it does seem to be pretty sturdy.
Love this cabinet

Been looking for something to hold my dvds for awhile now and when I saw this I wanted. For about 280 i was hesitate on buying it, I put it off for 3 weeks. I went to other places trying to find something cheaper with no luck. So I looked up the reviews and made we hesitate again because yes eveyone said how great of a cabinet was but how hard and long it was to put it together. Then I saw they offer to have it shipped together already, that would have been great if it wasn't another 100 dollars so that was out of the picture. Long story short me and my fiance decided to get it. It came to days late from expected shipping date witch we didnt really mind, xame in a long and heavy box took both of us to carry. We prepared ourselves for this bc we didn't wanna be putting this together for 6, 7, 8 hrs like some ppl said it took. So we ate before hand and had drinks ready when we started. To be honest at first glance all these prices can be intimidating but we just jumped right in. Saw someone write if u wanna text ur marriage buy this and I find it funny bc me and my fiance kinda found it fun doing it together. It took us about 4 hrs that taking it out separateing pieces putting together and puting it where it would sit. Didnt fill it up till the next day we have 268 dvds in it now with so much more room I couldn't be happier with this product. And to the reviews I saw where they was shorted screws we werent we had the exact amount we was supposed to. I would 100% recommend this cabinet. Is a great buy very heavy and sturdy.
The shelves on the doors that used wood glue came unglued I could try using a better and stronger brand of glue

I bought this product at the end of 2013 but didn't set it up until the end of 2014. IT holds approximately 270 dvds, I added a few VHS Tapes in there as well. I just wish it could about 50 more DVD'S then I'd be set.
The shelves on the doors that used wood glue came unglued I could try using a better and stronger brand of glue, but for not I'll just leave it as is because as long as the movies are on there they are ok, I'm afraid if the glue is too strong it might warp the shelves. I may try to use better glue later on.
The shelves on the door are a little wobbly But If put Blue-Ray's/HD DVD'S or a CD on the end it should be fine, the Lock is a little loose but still locks,
None the less I'm a VERY Satisfied Customer! it took three shelves worth of movies and condensed it to one shelf of movies!!! Which works out great if you live in a one room apartment or studio!!!! I AM VERY HAPPY!!!!! (:A_A :)

A great product. I have over 300 DVD's and Blu-ray's of various sizes, and this media cabinet fits them all nicely with room to spare. The quality of the cabinet is very nice, and not cheap looking.
The door storage is not exactly what I would have wanted, but it gets the job done. (It's a tad narrow width-wise.)
This definitely requires two to possibly three people to help assemble the cabinet.
The instructions are fairly easy to follow, but not as detailed as you would think.
Overall, I would recommend one of these to a friend, but they would have to have a serious collection of film and television discs for me to justify them spending the associated cost of this product.
