The installation video and product images are not very accurate.

The installation of the product is super easy but in the description of the product they do not mention that it comes with a black box that has to be programmed (however the programming of the device is super easy, there is no need to go to the dealer to seek professional help). It would be nice if they at least show the photo of this little black box in the product photos. In the video of the installation that appears on Amazon they do not show or comment on anything regarding the little black box which they call a module. Additionally, the video on the website is the same as the one on amazon. At first glance I thought it was just plug and play but you have to program the little black box (super simple and the steps are in the manual that came with the product, but it was a surprise when I opened the box). Negative point. The engine cuts out when you open the door and I don't like this. I don't know if it's something that can't be avoided but I do know that cars that come with key ignition don't turn off when the door is opened. I will do a search to see if this is normal in the toyota rav4 model

The package: Good kit. (Only things not included are regular Philips head screwdriver and an assistant with small hands)
The process: Wire assembly feels quite sturdy and well made. May be a little daunting when you first see it, but it really only plugs in one way. Their video (here in the product page and on Youtube) makes the wiring process MUCH clearer. Simply queue it up on your phone, play a step, pause, do it, continue. Setting the little control box is easy as well. The printed instructions are very clear on what you have to do.
Final thoughts: The whole thing took me about 30 minutes. Honestly, 20 of those minutes was just me fumbling with the plastic trim and trying to fit my hands inside the spaces behind the metal bars. All worth it to be able to warm up the car as I get dressed for work at 5AM. I've had it for just under 3 weeks now and the past week has been a bit chilly. Since it uses the original key fob, there's no indication that I pressed it right. I do have to watch for the car's lights through security cameras. I don't mind it. Love that it's designed AND manufactured in North America, especially since I'm part of North American manufacturing. Definitely recommending Start-X.

Don't be scared to try and do this on your own. It is quick and easy. The hardest part was getting my hands in the areas to unplug and connect. I installed this along with carlink on my rav4. Quick and easy. I have zero experience in doing something like this b4 today. Just pulled up YouTube and followed instructions

Normally don't write reviews, but this thing worked like a charm! It does NOT work for Hybrid or non-key fab RAV4s, only push to start models as stated. We have a TRD off-road edition and this worked perfectly. Follow their YouTube video guide for the best instructions on where and how to plug in the wires, and use the provided manual in the package for the programming of the box. Very DIY friendly, you don't need to have any in-depth automotive knowledge or special skills to be able install this, just follow the instructions. It's very much worth the price considering how much a dealer or shop charges for this same feature!
