Great little entry level thermal.

So if you ever heard the phrase "You get what you pay for" well that is true. For the price of this thermal monocular you really cannot complain. I researched for a while other companies and went with AGM cause of their pricing. I gave it a shot and overall I've been impressed with the item. Great beginner thermal to see if you want to dig deeper in your wallet further for a for top of line thermal. I can detect heat signatures out at 100 to 200 yards but after that it can be hard. Identifying is better less than 100 yards. I do love the wifi streaming capabilities as I've used this for other people to view. The battery life lasts a very long time up to 10 hours and the type C charger is nice as it works with other devices I use. Overall I'm impressed with what it can do for the price. AGM has other great products as well for the price getting more into thermal. I would recommend this to someone getting into the thermal world. I know ATN and Pulsar makes great thermals and recommend them as well but if your new into this is a great start for your budget. Overall AGM did a fine job and would recommend.

I have had this monocular for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it. I work as a first responder and patrol officer in a gated retirement community on night shift. This community is 85 acres and I have only had a trespasser a couple of time and we have coyotes occasionally. I wanted something to be able to see between houses and yards in dark spots without freaking someone out due to a flashlight coming through their window at 3am. I wasn't sure how good this would be because of price, but it is great! You won't always be able to identify what something is, but you will know if something is there. One of the ones that impressed me the most is I will see a small thermal spot in a yard, shine my light and it would be a bird just nested up in the middle of the yard. This was at 15 or 20 yards. So it will definitely show a person or decent size game from a pretty good distance. Again, identifying isn't the best, but you will definitely know something it there. I love it and use it every shift. I would highly recommend it for this price. I was thinking about digital night vision but I think this was definitely the better choice

This items is functionally great. Amazing in fact. My concern is that it has a rechargeable battery, and there is no way to replace that battery. Rechargeables fail after some number of charge cycles - they cannot be charged anymore. I wrote to the company and asked if I would have to throw it out when it would not accept a charge any more, or if I could then put conventional batteries in it. I never heard back. Buyer beware.
A word of caution.. be careful of the difference between "sleep mode" and "off". Visually, there is no way to tell the difference. But sleep mode drains the battery and if left on for a few days, the unit will need recharging. Once you're aware of the difference, its easy to truly shut it off by holding down the off button for at least 3-4 seconds. But if you just hole it for a second or so, it will look like its shutting off, but its actually sleeping. Like I said, easy to avoid this issue, but if you get this and your battery seems to drain fast, its probably that its being put into sleep mode instead of off. Know the difference, and you have the keys to the castle :)
