When the package arrived at my front door. I thought it was an Apple product. Meaning the packaging the cam came in is of Apple standards. It was nice. I felt like I was getting something very"¦..sophisticated. It was easy to setup. Very easy. I didn't need to use the handbook. I read some of it afterwards. Lol. I found a sweet coupon. What I saved on the cam. I invested into a card for the cam. The video quality is great! I didn't check for sound. I don't know why. Included in the packing are two stickers to put on display indicating that your vehicle uses a dash cam. I'm a rideshare driver. I need stuff like that. Two stickers to separate languages. I needed four more in English. Only out of curiosity did I write Vantrue asking if they would send me more. Well I got a response back. I can look for it in the mail in about two weeks because they come from China. That's great customer service. Thanks Vantrue!! Oh the reason for four stars? There is always room for improvement!! :-D

I originally rated this at 2 stars, citing weak/defective mount for the dashcam. I have upgraded to a four star rating based on the fact that Vantrue reached out after seeing my review and offered an adhesive mount solution to fix the woes of the suction cup mount.
The adhesive mount works just fine. I wish they would ship with both adhesive or suction cup mount as an option though, instead of selling them separately. The fact that the suction cup mount falls off and breaks too soon still stands...

The dash can advertises GPS as being a prime feature of this device.
The GPS element, however, is built into the suction mount. If anything happens to that suction mount, the GPS won't work anymore, and there is no way to power the dash cam.
The reason for this low rated review is the simple fact that the suction mount is terrible. It constantly falls off the windshield no matter how clean I make it. During the summer months, it falls off every day.
Furthermore, the durability of the mount is trash. It lasted no longer than one year. I've had this for 15 months, and as you can see in the photos, the suction mount broke completely, and I can no longer use the dash cam. Sure, there are mounts I can buy again, but why buy them again, when I know they're built terribly and will break again??
If I had the choice, I will never have bought this dash cam if I knew the durability prior to buying it. Buyers beware

This camera works very well! If you do Uber or ride-sharing, this camera is a great low coast insurance policy. It records out FRONT,and INSIDE the car with microphone so you can tell YOUR side of the story if need be. The cam has true GPS and can track you speed /location . Great for disputing those speeding tickets ( it shows your speed in kilometers or miles per hour real time) the device has a clear picture and the nite images are good.- No more their word against yours BRING THE VIDEO. If someone tries the old swerve in front of you and then slam on the brakes- when they see the video in court that other party may be getting charged with reckless driving - or they hit a run they are busted!!! A while ago I had this person who was wandering around in the median of a busy street for no appearant reason then when a car got closer that person would tryto stage a fake accident with slower moving cars on that street. Protect yourself- get a dashcam.
