I have been wearing some type of hearing aid since 1997. Had everything from a $3000 pair to a $40 pair. While I was extremely happy with the more expensive ones, they have gone up in price and I just can't see myself spending that money again. I have had various reactions to the cheaper ones and always found them a bit of a chore to get set up to work properly for my hearing loss. Out of the need to keep the price pretty low and based on reviews I took a chance on this one. It came in this morning, I opened the box, put in the battery, and put in my ear with the dome it came with already on...worked great from the start. I didn't have to fiddle with volume, changing domes, etc. for myself, I'm very happy out of the box. I'll wear this for a week or so and if it continues to work as it is now, I will be getting a second one for backup. Because we all have different degrees of hearing and even with mine being pretty severe, I would not hesitate to recommend to you and friends to give this one a try.

I have worn high-end hearing aids for over eight years and continue to do so daily. Make no mistake....these are appropriate only what they are advertised for: hearing amplifiers. They amplify sound. They don't modify it to an individual's specific needs. For the price, why should they? They are great for the intended purpose and are a great value. I use mine as a supplement to my regular aids, which are over-the -ear (RIC) and are a total pain with mask wearing. I've had my regular aids slingshot across parking lots when removing a mask. These in-the -ear (CIC) aids do not get in the way at all. I also use them for strenuous outdoor activity. I am a bit concerned that the lack of any reference to replacement domes and wax filters could render these units useless at some point and would give these 5 stars if replacements were readily available. This review is specifically for the red (right) unit, but applies equally to the blue (left). I do like that these are sold separately, and are therefore individually replaceable if necessary.
