I used this to convert my road bike to a stationary trainer while recovering from a total knee replacement. Connected to my Trek in minutes, held the bike fully upright with no tipping over and facilitated my regaining range of motion. I purchased this as used. The price was right. The only thing that this stand poses, is that it raised the bike off the floor about 4 inches, and it is difficult, if not impossible to mount the bike. One has to lower the saddle, but then your not positioned correctly to peddle. Have to figure something out with a sturdy wooden block for mounting purposes. Noise? It's tolerable.

after a few weeks, it seems very solid and works well. It was fairly easy to assemble. However, it is noisier than I thought it would be. I also feel like the rear tire will wear down much quicker than normal riding.

I have this on a mat on the floor next to my treadmill. Between the two, I get more exercise (measured by sweat) on the bike than on the treadmill. I've taken to using both along with hand weights for an all-around good workout. As mentioned, this went up quickly and fit the lugs on my 1978 Peugeot road bike with no modification (other than normal adjustment). Feels solid and after 4 or 5 rides shows no issues. I did learn not to crank the roller onto the tire too tight-- was noisy when I did so and unnecessary, when I backed it off, I was able to find the best setting to avoid slippage with the least force-- quiet enough for me to easily watch TV as I ride...
