This pearled barely cooks up well in an automatic rice cooker. I mix it with several other grains in addition to conventional rice. Nice, slightly chewy texture. Just make sure to add a little more water than usual in order to ensure it cooks up evenly with the other grains. I only wish it were hulled barley in order to get the benefits of more fiber. Good product, recommended to others, would definitely buy it again.

My wife had never had barley. So after ordering this I made a beef barley soup using a piece of brisket I had left over from a bq I did. The flavor and texture of this barley is the best I have ever had. My wife was blown away and agreed I had to get more.

By far, this is the best favorable whole barley. It's shape is not compromised after hours of simmering on the stove or in the crock pot. It's difficult to find whole barley in grocery markets. Based on my experience, they only sell cracked barley.
