Super short cabling

This product delivers what it promises to charge and keep a battery charged using solar power, that is great for my riding mower stored in an off-grid shed. What I do not grab is why on Earth the cabling is so short; usually you install the solar panel on a wall well above your head and the cables of this product do not exceed 6ft!! I had to buy a 25 ft SAE extension cable to reach my battery and even trying to get a compatible extension cable is challenging: the extension connectors do not fit entirely with the connectors of this product, there is a 2 mm gap in between the 2 connectors that cannot be closed and jeopardize the weatherproofing of the connection. If only standards could be followed by everyone... Nonetheless, I am happy with this product for now, no settings to fiddle around, plug and play, the extension cable is inside so weatherproofing is not much of an issue, time only can tell about the durability.

This solar battery maintainer was easy to install. It's only rated at about an amp in full sun, but after a not so sunny day I checked the voltage of my car battery and it increased almost half a volt. So long term it should trickle charge nicely for a vehicle that is not near a power outlet.

In my application, I used this panel to keep the battery in my race trailer topped off. Battery only used for internal and external LED lights as well as operate electric tongue jack, so no heavy needs long term - just used to keep installed battery topped off. So far for me, works great. I can charge radios as well as mobile phones in trailer without having to have shore power while in paddock area or head to RV to retrieve items.
