We bought these for our 7 year old to use while snowboarding. We tried several different brands from Amazon and these are the only ones that fit. The pads are firm but provide protection and have good placement. They do provide some protection from falls especially on ice or rails. The only problem is that the padding is already starting to get a little flat from sitting and he's only used them about 5 times. I'm not sure how long they will last but so far they are doing their job.
