When I finally admitted that maybe, just maybe, I might be saying "what?", all too often, went online to look for hearing aids. No way was I going to wear those things that go behind my ears. And no batteries! And no big things in my ears. My criteria was pretty narrow, enter Eargo.
They met my criteria and then some, like an online hearing test, Bluetooth and price. ($5000 or 6000 was a stretch for me). Even after I got them, it took me a while to wear them daily. (Vanity). Now, the first thing I do in the morning is put them on. The volume on the TV went from 28 to 18. They're so small & comfortable that at times I forget they're in. The online support is what you would dream of. Prompt with follow-up that seems sincere and not rushed. They want you to be satisfied.
I definitely give them five out of five stars.

So far my aids are working well. I have used them in meetings, on the phone and listening to music and tv and they provided the help I needed in all these situations. They are almost invisible in my ears. They are programmable and the programs provided more than meet my needs. Battery life has been adequate but tricky to get used to. Also, sound quality takes getting used to. I have some questions about battery replacement. I'll add the answers to this when I have them.

The experience has been very good so far and I like these hearing aids better than the Resound hearing aids I paid much more for. The ones from Resound only lasted 3 years.

I have no prior experience with hearing aids. My hearing loss is not substantial, so I don't always use the aids. Basically, they work well. They do help me hear better! Unfortunately, they occasionally fall out. In fact, I lost one and had to buy a replacement. But, that might be a hazard with any of the small hearing aids.

First of all, the Eargo 5 hearing aids I ordered were out of stock so they sent me Eargo 6 hearing aids, roughly a $700 upgrade, for no additional charge.
Customer Support is excellent almost to the point of doting on the customer to make sure the customer is happy with the purchase. There are numerous helpful videos as well as customer service phone support and, believe it or not, a Customer Support email address to answer any questions or concerns promptly.

Why then only 4 stars? It turns out that, other than selecting which of the 4 preset programs each hearing aid is set at, you can't make any other adjustments without the app. Eargo has a list of Android phones and iPhones with which the app is compatible, but they lose a star for not showing that list up front in the item description so one will know if it's compatible with their phone or if they're faced with having to buy a new phone in addition to the hearing aids. That would be very useful info and potentially a deal breaker considering the current price of phones. Now, a new phone is my only option if I wish to fine tune Volume, Bass, or Treble. Fortunately the 4 preset programs are acceptable in lieu of being able to fine tune them with the app but I would still like the option of being able to use the app.
All in all, my son and my grandson have resumed talking with me more since I no longer have to ask them to continually repeat themselves. That alone makes them worth the money. Thanks Eargo.
