I have worn a hat all my life, my job has changed a lot ,but I still work in the weather. This hat is pretty waterproof and windproof. It's not too heavy. I really don't like the wire in the brim, your always having to straighten it. I'm used to felt hats crease them and leave them alone. But for climbing in tight spaces this is good.

the seller hung in there with me for at least 2 returns and the third finally fit comfortably. the sizing is strange as i had much to small and much to large- both were supposedly the same size. the hat is well made and wears well. looks expensive. lots of compliments.

This hat is perfect for working outdoors, keeps the sun off my head and neck. Good fit and came nicely packaged. The only thing missing was the chin strap but I've got some leather out in my shop and figure to make my own rather than go thru the needless hassle of mailing things back and forth.
All in all I'm content enough with my purchase. Got caught in a heavy rain and this hat shed water well and kept my head dry.

Ok, so the hat was very nicely made. Everyone is saying it runs big, so I ordered a Med instead of a Lg. My measurement around my head is 23 1/8, and that should be a Large... but I went with a Med due to the comments. Well it was too tight. As for the way is was shipped,, it was in a large box and hat was in pristine shape. I think the problem most people are having, is that when a hat does not fit, they send it back probably at an Amazon drop point. When you do that, they take it out of the box and just sent it in the bag, in a large community package to Amazon. This is probably why they are getting crushed. Then, the next person who buys it, gets it in crushed shape, and they send it back, and so on, and so on. If you pick one that is NOT prime, it will come from the mfg and probably be in pristine shape too. Other than that, the hat is nice and I wish it fit. Returning it and getting a Large from the mfg. Hopefully,,, this pristine Med will not be crushed for the next buyer.

EDIT: Returned the Medium, they chunked the box and put the hat in the plastic mfg bag, into a large bag with other returns. Thus... the crushed hat. Ordered a replacement but in Large, and it came from the mfg in a nice box with stabilizing cardboard to keep the brim/crown from getting crushed. Very nice fit after inserting one piece of fitting tape, fits perfect. A+. Awesome hat.
