I bought this expecting to use my Milwaukee M18 2-speed drill motor. This machine is no slouch on power, for a cordless tool, But, it was almost not enough for even smaller logs. Anything larger then 4" my Milwaukee won't split. I did pull out my corded, 1hp, 2speed Ridged drill motor, It is a big beast of a too. Also, having the T-handle was VERY important with this much torque. With this drill, I could split some logs up to about 6", but the bit often got stuck. Have a pipe-wrench handy, as the shank will unscrew from the bit when you try to reverse a stuck bit out. Did a wheel-borrow load of small limbs from about 2" to 6" for RV campfire wood (mostly Pecan and Orange wood). Had sore wrists, elbows and shoulders for a week after...
