Mine was so easy to use, I sent this one to a friend. I can't grip and swing a hatchet anymore but I can drop this on the ground and hold a log on it. Then easily pop it a couple of times with a small hand sledge. Very safe, you don't swing the blade! BE CAREFUL THOUGH, I tip mine over when done. I wouldn't want to fall on it!
Looks dumb until you use it. It splits the wood by twisting it with sloping side rails. Log to kindling lickety split! Perfect for old farts, like my friend! This upright V configuration side rails keeps the wood aligned. Other inverted V types tend to slip the wood off of the blade. So easy you'll make kindling for fun.....

This thing is awesome. I literally use it every day. I have a Jutol woodstove and it doesn't take huge logs so it's a must fpr me to be able to split my wood. This bad boy does the trick. I don't have it mounted to anything although you can mount if wanted. I simply leave it in my garage and when I grab wood of my pile, I use this, split some wood and I'm good to go. Very little effort is needed when I use an 8lbs. Small sledge hammer.
