It does not have remote or volume control but I didn't expect it to. The toy is well made and very cool how it lights up and moves. It does switch off which is nice. My boys absolutely love the mist that looks like fire. It was packaged a little flimsy which is way I gave it 4 stars but the toy itself is 5 star. Seriously every child's favorite that comes to our house to play.

My 5 year old had to have this, when it arrived I was worried it looked flimsy, however, this is by far his favorite toy of many he rec'd for Christmas, he slept with it, carried it everywhere for a solid week, he plays with it daily, it is very good quality despite initial thoughts, it has been dropped, thrown in bags and is in perfect shape plus the steam/smoke coming from his mouth is very cool....and the water is very easy to put in. The media could not be loaded. I was a little worried when it first arrived because it didn't have any cushion or packing material to protect it, so I thought it might be broken, but on christmas morning we got batteries and filled up the water reservoir and it was great!
