I could get the three HDMI ports to work with any one of 4 monitors.
1 monitor was connected HDMI to HDMI
3 monitors were VGA monitors
It would work just fine with three HDMI outputs leading to any combination of monitors.
None of the monitors would work using the VGA port and a VGA to VGA cable.
With only two ports in use, I could get the VGA to VGA to work.
I could never get 4 monitors going together.
Same issue with the replacement unit.
Otherwise worked just fine. If you are adding 3 external moitors, this is probably your cheapest functional solution.

I don't usually write product reviews but this hub did what I wanted it to so effortlessly it felt necessary this time. My machine's model isn't mentioned in the product description, but the hub worked great with my HP Elitebook 640. I had my 2 external monitors plugged into my laptop before using the hub (one via HDMI and one via HDMI to USB-C cable), so they were already configured. I plugged the monitors into the hub along with my mouse dongle and the power supply that I bought separately and everything works great just going into the laptop via the single USB-C input. I'll come back and update if durability becomes an issue.

I purchased the adapter for our office as a backup for team members to use in case they forgot their adapter. It was in my desk drawer until 11/14 until the first use. The team member used it, and when he tried to take it out, the little metal piece got stuck in his computer, breaking the adapter. My return window closed on 11/10. I am not at all happy with the quality.
