The cats enjoy playing with it, but does not have rechargeable batteries

Both cats went after the ball immediately, but watched the feathers for a while before going after them. I like the option where I can leave the toy ON and it cycles on and off throughout the day (does not run the entire time its on). Thought the unit had rechargeable batteries when I purchased it only to discover it does not (needs batteries or USB power via cord). The cats do like it and it keeps them busy; would have given 5/5 if it was rechargeable (disappointed it was not rechargeable).
My cat is addicted to this toy!

I've never seen my cat go so crazy over a toy! He usually will investigate a toy, play with it a bit and once he's figured out what it's about, gets bored and walks away. But not with this one. He's figured out how to turn it on himself and change the different modes. I think he likes watching the different colors go on and off as it cycles through the modes. And watching him try to catch the feather as it pops out of the different slots is adorable and gives him some much needed exercise and helps to burn off some energy. It's very well made and holds up well to his abuse. He likes it so much that I bought a second one as a backup. If you have a finicky feline, I definitely think you should try this out. My cat never seems to tire of it.
Good toy when alone

Took a chance to buy an electronic toy for our cat that is alone during the day to help her be playful when no one is around. When we first turned it on and watched her, she did not know what to think. She studied it for a while then jumped in. The time on the toy is accurate; every 4 hours when pressed on a speed, it does come on. I've been at home at lunch and evening and she knows the sound and goes to play with it. Otherwise, she will randomly play with the ball when passing through. I also have not left it out continuously to keep her interest in it since I invested more in this toy than the stuffed balls or fish that are now passed on. Have had for 5 weeks and no feathers have been pulled off by her. Like the replacements it does come with. The speeds are just the right timing in my opinion.
Kittens love but batteries do not

My two 1 yr old cats absolutely love this, but I'll be honest doesn't take much, they're entertained with grocery store bags. They play this alot which does kill the batteries on it, understandable. Even the ball part they're amused. I'm glad it came with extra attachments, my kittens already pulled one out n chewed it up. I do really like that on back it tells you what the light colors mean. That helped alot to figure out how to change attachment. Would recommend for a playful cat. My 8 yr old even batted at the ball twice
Fun for cats, but real question: Is this possessed!? Randomly turns on. (asking for 'a friend.') HA!

Got this for my two indoor cats who are starting to look a bit stir crazy. It took a while for them to warm up to it, but now at least one of my cats plays with it here and there. Which is great! Getting a cats full attention is a near impossibility. That said.... sometimes when no cats nor I am near it it will just COME ON. Out of nowhere. Is this an intentional design feature? If so, that's cool. Means I don't have to activate it for them to get stimulated by it. If it's NOT an intentional design feature...any one else experiencing this? And if no, now I know I should be worried! HA!
