I work in the medical field and as a result of my long shifts I tend to drink a lot of coffee and I mean a LOT of coffee. I like dark, strong, and black but since I pretty much rely on the beverage I'll usually just drink whatever I can get my hands on. I've tasted dozens of coffees from the cheap store brand to late night/early morning diner to some serious specialty brews and previously my favorite has always been the cheap diner coffee. Speaking of those specialty blends; they've always left something to be desired. There is a catch with them all - too weak, added flavors, sometimes just down right nasty. It was for that reason I was skeptical of Death Wish.

Given those experiences, with my first pot I went conservative. Too conservative, to be honest. It was very watered down but even so I could taste something I suspected was great. It was smooth and rich. Definitely bitter but not biting. Sadly, since I brewed it at home and took it with me to work I didn't have a chance to try a stronger mix until this morning. I'm currently on my fifth cup and this time I went just a tad on the strong side. What are my thoughts? Well, let me tell you...

5 Cups and still going is a lot of coffee and its not something most drinkers can't relate to so most people would be thinking that I'm bouncing off the walls particularly since this is supposed to be ridiculously strong. Even with my tolerance one could easily expect that from me but I have bad news - the one thing I'd say negatively about this coffee is that the strength claims are perhaps, at best, overstated. Honestly, I can't feel any difference between and any other coffee in terms of caffeine. That is where my complaints end and as you can see, in spite of that, I still rated it 5 stars.

The reason for that is simple: This is by far the best tasting coffee I've ever had. All of the things I detected in a weak pot carried over to the strong one. Heck, I even went a bit stronger than usual and its still not even a little harsh. Every sip I take amazes me because I cannot believe that something could taste so strong and rich without a bitter bite at the end but the truth is that there is none. Without question, it is truly amazing.

I guess aside from the possibly overstated caffeine claims the biggest issue is price. Based on how much coffee I drink there is no way I can afford to make this my regular brew and as I would so very much want to do. There are plenty of people out there who make more money than I do and if you like coffee at all, regardless how you feel about strength, you should try this. If you do, please don't ruin it with creamer, sugar, milk, or any other additive before giving it a try black. I honestly believe that you'll find it to be better than any thing else you've ever tasted.

someone gave me an instant paket to try and the best thing to say is wow! making regular coffee very extra strong doesn't even come close to the energy rush death wish delivers. after the try I had to buy some.making the coffee the way death wish recommends you will make you think the hair on your arms is standing up straight,you have to look at your arms and see it's just a feeling that this coffee gives you

Best coffee Ever made, period. Hands down, period! Highly recommend. Cannot stress how fantastic this coffee is.... Must try for yourself. You will probably live forever if you drink it. Maybe not, but we'll see. So far so good. I'm still going. LOL

I bought this coffee as a christmas present for my brother last year. I never tried this coffee before so i tried it when he came by for christmas(i got 1 bag for him-big bag) and i was amazed at how strong it was. I was half asleep when i drank it and it perked me right up after the first few sips. Now i know why the call it death wish coffee!

I have been buying Amazon's 2 pack for close to a year now since it's at a better price point than what I can find in most stores.

For anyone who hasn't tried Deathwish, this is targeted for anyone looking for coffee that has a SOLID amount of caffeine"¦AKA the most caffeine that could possibly exist in a single cup of coffee.

They aren't messing around when they say it's the "Worlds Strongest Coffee". According to my research, a 12 oz. cup of regular coffee has approximately 144 mg of caffeine while Deathwish has approximately 708 mg of caffeine in 12 oz.

That being said, this coffee is not for those who are sensitive to caffeine or for those faint of heart LOL. However, I am an RN who not only works 12+ hour shifts, but I also work nights so this has been a game changer and a lifesaver for me.

To top it off, it has a very smooth, bold flavor and is not bitter at all.
