Excellent bang for the buck. It's fast for the price and has a good amount of built in apps. That said they're definitely written by someone who knows English as a second language. The photo backup app is functional but it's coordinating free iPhone app is very limited in features and it bugs out half the time during backups. It's supposed to be able to run NextCloud but I've been unable to get it working. I don't have a computer science degree. Apparently you need to know SQL to get it working. Generally if you want this to be like a personal Dropbox, think again unless you want to spend days learning about Linux servers, MariaDB (MySQL), containers, etc. It's not drag & drop. Oh, and most of the cool stuff is windows only. Don't bother if you're on a Mac. But, to be fair, the built in Mac TimeMachine support works great and is easy to set up.

Great quality, good interface, but without a degree in IT and watching a few YouTube videos, I wouldn't have been able to set it up. The web browser interface is good but you can't do everything from it. You still need to map network drives, and I'm still having issues having those network drives "stick" . One pc they are there and accessible, the other win 10 pc, i have to remap them every morning. Also depending on how you map to them, it doesn't accept my username and password. I spent hours and hours with this. Would I buy it again, YES. I'm 90% happy with my purchase.

Great entry level NAS. This is my first home NAS system, and it has great documentation, and was easier to set up than I was expecting. While there is a bit of a learning curve in my case, since this was my first NAS, and still had it up and running in one day, with ongoing fine tuning and configuring over the next few days. Works great, and enjoy the user interface and App Store. Definitely enjoy having my own in home cloud storage. Also love the MyArchive feature. I ordered 2 more disk trays, so I can hot swap disks in Bay 4 with extra disks I had. Love this flexible feature that allows you to archive more data, than if you only had 4 static bays. I definitely would recommend this product to friends.

This is my first NAS so I didn't really have any preconceptions. Plugged it in, added drives, installed their controller software on each of my Windows machines and everything just worked. I'm not really using any of the special streaming features but setting up as a big store was easy.

I was looking for something to replace my western digital nas. I have been a wd my whole life, but just like netgear i have swore them off and moved on. This nas has a tone of features already built in and can connect with no issues. My main goal was to be able to have my own cloud for cell phones, then a computer backup. This does both with ease.
I was thinking about another model that had more ram and upgradable. I was going to switch, but was out of my 30 days. I am still happy with this device and love that you can use either disk size and still have a usb drive for a total of 3.
