This coop is cheap. Had damaged pieces that were a manufacturer f up had to glue frame together before assembly. Instructions were somewhat easy to follow. No words just picture. I did contact seller about the issue. They responded quickly and resolved the issue promptly. Great customer service.

The "coop" is as pictured. BUT, it is very light-weight and the wood is about one step above "balsa". It would not be suitable for sitting on ground (would rot within 18 months) - so I built a frame (out of 2x6) to put under it. The frame is joined together and attached to the unit as well - which makes it less likely to get "tipped over" by some nosey creature (dog or raccoon). I have small hens in this unit, I don't think a bigger chicken would do well in it. The instructions for assembly were adequate, but not great. Some wood was already broken, some screws were missing and some pre-drilled holes were misplaced and did a bit of damage. The wire is good. I did paint the unit to protect that weak wood from the weather. Overall, it looks nice and is worth the price, but could be even better. (I'm guessing you'll have to improve/strengthen it on your own.)

we changed the roosting poles, the diamater is too small. we bought closet rod. cut to fit the coop and screwed in place. you can tell it is way easier for them to grip the closet rod.
we were concerned about the size of the coop with 4 chickens. They all fit just fine and like staying close to each other. Nesting box is big enough for 2 chickens. buy the small version of this coop and then buy a cage.

the instructions were not that good. we had to watch the youtube assembly video. that guy did a great job showing how to do it. the wood is lightweight and we also used 2x4's under the coup so it isnt sitting on the groud. we painted all outside facing wood. we used heavy duty deck paint.
read some of the other reviews, as they had some good ideas.

The wood is definitely thin, but it's as expected. Included pic of my rough collie for size reference. It's small, also as expected. We sealed all the wood pieces before assembling. Assembly was pretty simple. We will add on fencing later for more area. Birds like it. Added a light inside for some heat since some chicks need another week to be fully fledged. Overall, happy with it. This was nearly half the price of anything at the local stores. Shipping was quick.
