Up against two huskies
Eric Knight✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 21, 2023
I've had this robot for about a year now and here are my genuine thoughts. First off, my Yeedi is named Hairriet, the pun is terrible, but she was bought to help us keep up with dog hair.

Does it clean up dog hair? (a common question)
Yes, it does, but be realistic. Is it going to leave your floor free of all dog hair, no way. Especially if you have carpet. However as all my floors are hard surface I cannot speak to the effectiveness on carpet. But I think the general consensus is on carpet these things aren't so great. I have two huskies and yes, they shed A LOT. So poor Hairiett is living in some perpetual nightmare trying to keep it clean, but the dust bin realistically fills in 20 minutes no matter what because of our dogs. More on this later.

I run this vacuum as a "front line defense" kind of deal. It runs EVERY night. Patrolling around 1200sq ft. It usually does this in about an hour or less depending on how many obstacles it faces. When its done it still has a fair bit of power left, but not enough for another run. Its never needed to return to dock before finishing. It doesn't get EVERYTHING. But I can say my toddlers socks are generally not covered in hair the next morning. Every few days a quick follow up with a dyson or lower powered vacuum gets the few small areas the vacuum may miss (corners, or furniture related obstacles).

Hairriet is not too loud if you run it on low suction, however I switched it to medium suction in order to give it a better chance against picking up hair. So it is just loud enough that I find it annoying if I'm watching TV. But as I mentioned, it only takes an hour to do its job most days. I could negate this issue by running it solely after the family goes to bed. I did this when I first got it, but you'd be surprised what that sucker actually finds that it shouldn't. Bathroom scales, an occasional sock, maybe a charging cable that slipped off the arm of the couch because of a cat, it will find it, and get stuck. Wildest thing it found was a 3.5mm headphone jack cable that was hanging down from being unplugged from a PS5 controller. Hairriet literally climbed up the cable like Indiana Jones before erroring out. I didn't know whether to be impressed or not.

The APP is the worst part of this vacuum. Even though it functions well, if you have a more open concept floor plan it will not let you edit areas as "rooms." 80% of my main floor is one big area per the app. The laundry room and bathroom are the only ones the app decided were rooms. The kitchen, living, dining, office, and mudroom are all one big blob because there is no standard door separating them. And there is no way to change that. In some cases that may be fine, but the issue is that because Hairriet is dealing with SO MUCH hair, I'd like to be able to have it clean certain rooms, go for emptying, then head back to the battlefield in a different room, and repeat. This would maximize the dust bin's odds of actually emptying, AND let it pick up more per trip since it doesn't know its full on its own and then just drags the fur around. Yes, there is a "custom" button in the app that you can haphazardly draw a square where you want it to spot clean. But its ONE square, and sometimes its not always so cut and dry. Though even if you use this feature, you CAN'T save that custom cleaning map to use again as "kitchen" or "office." I don't see why this isn't a feature. I have yet to figure otu how to trick the app into thinking I have different rooms so I can accomplish this. If they fixed the app to allow this I'd give an A+ to the simplicity of the app. Otherwise, C-.

Let me try to summarize my remaining feelings on Hairriet:
-She does well 90% of the time without any real issues.
-The dust bin emptier does not do great, but this is probably because of the sheer madness of fur in the poor vacuum. It basically makes her constipated. Most times we just empty it before use.
-Occasionally she will get confused. I THINK its because if it bounces into enough things (lets say around a kitchen table and chairs) it will 'get lost.' It will then take FOREVER to clean.
-When it loses its self, it may fight club its dock, and its infuriating to watch. "Whats that horrible sound?" oh it's the sound of a robot trying to beat its dock into submission like its defending its family honor. I don't even know WHY it can do this. surely it should be able to SEE the dock with IR. After its done with the smackdown the dock could be anywhere desperately holding on by the plug.
-Its SO HARD TO CLEAN. This genuinely bothers me. As I said Hairriet is up against two huskies. She can get into a lot of hair. This hair will find its way into every nook and cranny of the bot. Primarily the wheel areas. The fact I have to sit there with tiny thin tweezers to yank out the clumps of fur that build up every month is a bit annoying. I wish the drive wheels were removable so you could access the buildup easier. Don't even get me started on the front swivel wheel, that sucker is near impossible to pop out to get the hair out from the wheel.
-I haven't been brave enough to use the mop features. So I cannot tell you how they are.

Lastly, after 11 months Hairriet developed a drop sensor error. Repeatedly asked for cleaning and would not run. Unfortunately no cleaning would fix it. Something deeper has gone wrong. Contacted customer support and they are sending me a new unit to replace it under warranty. I imagine if you are tech savvy you could buy the drop sensors and replace them yourself if you were out of warranty, but that wouldn't be for the average user to be expected to do.

Overall I have been very pleased with the outcome of using this vacuum even with the quirks. Its been a week since Hairriet stopped working and you can definitely tell the fur is building up again. My toddler turns her socks into ice-skates by the middle of the day. We look forward to the replacement arriving to help get the home under control again. My cat has also not ridden on this unit, my disappointment in my cats bravery is higher than my disappointment in this purchase.
Love the mopping feature!

The media could not be loaded. This product came with a broken bin latch but I reached out to the manufacturer and they sent me a new latch very quickly and at no charge. In the meantime, I taped down the lid and put the vacuum to the test. I let it underneath my bed where I hadn't thoroughly cleaned since I moved in a few years ago. I didn't catch that this vacuum is only compatible with a 2.4GHz wifi router and didn't honestly know that mine is currently 5GHz so I haven't been able to put scheduling or the room mapping to the test.

All of that said, the vacuum cleans my main level in around 1 hour. The suction increases as it goes over my woven hemp rug and is able to grab threads laying on top of it. It found three pennies somewhere and left them randomly in the middle of my floor. The mop function is worth going this route! It is as good as if I use a Norwex mop. Unfortunately, it did try to mop my rug, just damp on top, and without the mapping feature, it got itself trapped in a corner for a while. It would sometimes spend extra time in a few spots but it never put down too much water and would dry about 6 passes later.

If you are worried about uneven floors, don't. I have a tiled bathroom and cork kitchen that are at least a half-inch higher than the other wood floors and this vacuum made it up and down with only a little more noise as it geared up for it. Additionally, it was able to cross where my rug is folded over on the ends and even handled the corners most of the time.

The manufacturer responded to me within hours about the latch. I hate to send so many things back over a small part and they sent a new one within a few days (some receiving glitches but overall timely), and it was a simple swap to fix the robot.

Back to mopping. LOVE! The water bin can be completely removed and it had more than enough water to mop my 800 sqft home. I can walk around the floor without picking up grit. I can't seem to disconnect the mopping pad tray from the water tank but I'm just running it without the water tank right now.

A couple of things to note. It did get itself irrecoverably tangled in a small wire under a cabinet (the robot fit under spaces I wasn't prepared for it to fit, which is a great bonus). It tangles in small lighting cables so those really need to be pinned up. I also pulled all my curtains up before running as I have slightly pooling curtains. It does hit light objects repeatedly, so I have a collapsable plant stand that I wouldn't trust it with, but it's done well with plants in baskets and not pushing them around much. Verticle blinds left extended but open were left in a bit of a mess but it handles them grouped to one side well.

As I mentioned before, it somehow found 3 pennies in the first pass and it picked them up and carried them to the middle of the room before dropping them, so there's not enough suction for that but it clears away hair well (initial vacuuming required hair removal after but not the next two times). It does appear to be vacuuming and mopping and it clearly recognizes that the mop pad is in and demands having it removed before it will charge. Even without being connected through the app (can't be automated without the app) it will time the cleaning and send messages if the vacuum is stuck or needs the water basin removed and cleaned.

I think this vacuum will work very well for me. It was also very easy to set up...apart from the app issue which I hope I can easily resolve in the coming weeks. I tried to catch a video of the vacuum over the rug as it is louder on higher pile surfaces but most of my floors are flat. Please enjoy the video of it mopping. It had confusion in this corner for some reason that time, it took 20 minutes longer to mop and seemed to be confused in corners it couldn't fully access. This shows a bit of the shine the mopping leaves behind though. I also showed a photo of the broken bin latch which I mentioned above. I think the video's sound is pretty accurate to the real sound of the vacuum on flat surfaces. It sounds much louder on the rug but not as loud as an upright typically is.
Long-Term Use

This vacuum is great and will work perfectly for the first 6 months. After that it will have issues recognizing carpet vs. hard flooring. Not a big issue because it still vacuums. After about a year it will start saying that the main brush is stuck on carpet that it's vacuumed for a year without issue. Just parts getting with out. All robot vacuums will degrade over time even if you adhere to their maintenance schedule so this is not a low rating. Just know that this vacuum will begin to fail after about a year. Be prepared to replace it.

I've had this vacuum for a couple of weeks. I love it so far. My carpets and floors are clearly cleaner after i run it. It took me a bit to figure out how to do a custome cleaning so it only cleans a certain area and not the whole house. But i figured it out and its super easy. Like i said I love it so far. I use it daily because I have indoor long haired cats. And on that note, it picks up their fur great, however the self empty does not work very well for thick clumps of fur so I'm having to manually open it and clean it after each use. Which is fine, but defeats the purpose why i spent more money to get the self empty option. So far the bag inside the empty station only contains dust and small items. So it doesnt appear to be strong enough to clear the fur. But like I said it's not that big of a deal. Just a little annoying. So if you have indoor pets you might just get the vacuum itself and not pay more for the self empty station. Like I said I have 2 long haired cats. If you have only 1 or short haired it may work for you. But other than that I absolutely love it.
Good once you figure out the tricks

Bought this 5-6 months ago. First couple of months I was frustrated with it, it never seemed to get everything. We had a lab that sheds year round and even running the vacuum every day I would still need to go over everything with a regular vacuum at least every other day.
I went and read reviews and saw someone recommend to break it into sections. Once I stopped having it on a schedule to clean the whole floor and started having it clean one or two rooms and then go back to empty before setting it to go to the next section, it worked SO much better.
Also, a tip I've learned, I vacuum (for example) the kitchen and nook, once it's done I mop it by hand, then I put the vacuum in mop mode and have it go in the kitchen again. The plain water in the mop cleans up any remaining cleaning solution on the floor and leaves the floors feeling so much cleaner. While it's vacuuming or mopping one room, I'm getting the next room ready, it really is such a time saver.
My biggest annoyance with it now is the number of times it gets stuck on charger cords, baby socks, etc.
