Great door

Great product. We have three dogs from large to small. They all use it with ease and it has been great to have. There are two things I would change.
The first is when I installed it, I didn't notice that the pieces have a small lip on the top that holds it away from the wall. I didn't feel like taking all apart again to cut a notch in the wall so I left it. It holds the top out about an eighth of an inch, so no big deal. I didn't use the template as we already had a smaller one there, so the template may have told you to cut it wider to account for that lip.
The second is I would have liked to have two panels that I could use to close it off. One for the outside and one for the inside as there are two slots for them.
With that said, those two things are minor and the dogs are enjoying the freedom, and we are too.
Recommended.

Here's what I did to train my cat.
Tape open or remove both sides of the flap and give them at least a day to stare and go through it. I put treats around it also.
End of day I let one flap close but I took off the metal strip so the magnet wouldn't work. They don't understand they can push it, so they try to pull one corner with their paw. Eventually they discovered they can push on it.
I will leave it like this for a few days and then try reinstalling the magnet.
After a week I put both flaps down and then a few days after I reinstalled one magnet and then the other a week later
My house exterior is block so I went to Home Depot and got a thin sheet of metal and bent it to make a tunnel extension.

This Brioni dog door is the best quality & perfect fit we have had over 35 yrs of dog doors. My son installed with no difficulty it had this best reviews on Amazon & we showed thousands of our neighbors on our neighborhood app Nextdoor! It's insulated & not letting our extreme heat of 106 leak through! That's very important here in San Antonio, TX our kitty likes it, too! Great job
Sturdy

Installed today. Took about an hour to complete. The template will give you about an inch of extra fitting space. I trusted I would line my cuts up closer than that and decreased the width by about 1/2 inch. That worked for me. I was able to space it so that both screws on one side went into a stud -rather than center the door between the studs and use toggle bolts. I also didn't use a bottom support since the tunnel is securely in the stud.
I put side A in the wall, then tucked insulation around every space I possibly could.
The tunnel comes with a metal door. I bought another metal door for the outside. My hope is that it will make the tunnel more weather tight. And although my siding has horizontal slats, I'm able to lift the outside door with the tunnel frame snug up against the house. If your siding has a more severe slant, this may not easily work for you.
The flaps seem sturdy. Hopefully the additional outside cover will reduce the impact of weather on the flaps.
I expect the door will be required for use one or two days a week and will provide many years of service.

UPDATED!!!
I waited tooooo long to give in and have a dog door installed"¦.. anyone considering one - trust me it's worth it and then some!
It's a week and I'm truly happy, should have bought it 3 years ago! For the first time, since I've had dogs for a l o n g while I am Free! No longer have to worry about my dogs with their separation anxiety! Now they go in and out on their own. "I can leave the house knowing they'll be ok without worrying about me gone"¦
*****Hey BABONI PLEASE consider? *****
Ok back to the flaps, as I said before, they DO need to be a bit thicker or some way to fix them so they don't buckle a little on the "sides" perhaps run a thin "bar" inside the sides of the flaps? The flap itself is fine, it's the sides that need improvement.
Just installed last week"¦.

We have been with Amazon for a L O N G time, I recently installed a Baboni dog door. We were both impressed on how WELL they packed it! Came in perfect shape and it works great! I do have to mention that the flaps (others have mentioned) should be just a tad wider perhaps just a bit tougher, but this is why the dog door is sssoooo well made! I don't like bugs (phobia), but tomorrow we will 'force' train the 2 dogs through one flap. Sorry people, I had other people tell me to do it! We have 2 dogs - our Bechon/minipoo was a real trooper when we tried training her the 'right' way. Our other dog was a literal 'feral' dog and tends to be VERY sensitive and VERY fearful (long story) - I came close to considering getting the large one, but did what a friend suggested - ok 'force' him through! Guess what?! He's much better (WITH the outer flap left open) - no problem, inside too.... Tomorrow we'll 'flap' train them and we'll be all set. Thank YOU Boboni!
