The 20watt laser module works fine as a replacement for the Fokoos FE-20. Use the same M3 screws to mount to the plate, but you will need to 3D print or otherwise make a custom plate because the screw configuration is different. Be sure to set your max S value for power in Lightburn to 1000, not 255. The pwm connector is on the opposite side, the but the cable still reaches and plugs in fine. No pin changes required. Laser seems similar strength to the original.

The single caveat is that it measures 35mm on a side instead of the standard 33mm, so you may have issues attaching it to some carriages-definitely on a Genmitsu 3018-pro. It wasn't a deal breaker for me, because I created & 3d printed a bracket for it. Also, I had a small problem with the laser not turning on initially. However, their excellent customer service worked with me to diagnose & fix the problem..turns out the yellow and black wires were switched at the plug. After 2 minutes spent switching them I was in business. Thanks again for the help, guys!

First laser did not work at first - found loose plug on laser - plugged it in - worked but then stopped working halfway through small laser engraving.

One thing people should know is that if your just buying it to have a powerful laser to play with it doesn't focus the beam in a way that will stay culminated (did I kill that poor word). Thats to say it won't make a tight beam it will only focus a point within about a foot of the laser and then it widens so you'll need another lens to get a beam out of it. But if your using it the way its intended it should work great.
