I have waited 5 months to leave a review. I wanted to make sure that all the bad reviews I read here were real or false. I have degenerative disc disease so I couldn't sleep in my bed with my husband anymore. I was sleeping in a recliner in the living room. I sell on eBay so I had an eBay room. With much discussion with my husband, we cleaned out my eBay room got me a hospital bed off of Facebook Marketplace and I finally ordered this mattress topper. Now it is important to tell you that I spent months researching mattress toppers. I read the good reviews and the bad. If I saw a common thread in the bad reviews then I didn't even think about going with that topper. Then I saw the video that Arzante posted with his 5-star review. I took a second look at this topper again. It was now at the top of my list. I received the topper a few days before my room was ready. So I was able to lay it out for a few days prior to sleeping on it. One thing I saw in several reviews on a lot of toppers was that there was a horrible chemical smell. Mine had no odor at all. That was the first thing I did when we got it opened was to take a big sniff and I didn't smell anything bad.

I am a woman in my early 50s and I have horrible hot flashes. I also weigh over 250 pounds. I think it is important for you to know this for the second part of my review. I have read a lot of reviews complaining of the foam making them hot during the night or the foam flattened when used. This is why I wanted to wait 5 months to leave my review. I wanted to make sure I gave YOU accurate information. August in Iowa is unpleasant to begin with, but when you throw hot flashes into the mix it can be downright miserable. My wonderful husband put in a ceiling fan and a window air conditioner in my room. Along with an atomic clock that tells me the temperature in the room and what it is outside. I didn't have much trouble with being hot when sleeping with the topper. I was even using cotton sheets. Now it is Winter in Iowa. There are a few things I have figured out during my 5 months with my topper. Tencel or bamboo sheets are a must-have for those who run hot when they sleep. After the window air conditioner was taken out I did start waking up hot and had to uncover for a while. I am still using the ceiling fan and it helps. This is where the atomic clock comes in. I have also closed the vent in my room to our boiler so I get very little heat in my room. I prefer to go to bed when my room is at around 65 degrees. At times I wake up and my room is 71 - 73 degrees. Most days it is 69 degrees. With a room that cool and bamboo sheets I get chilled when I go to bed, but within minutes I am warmed up and perfectly comfortable.

These are some of the things that I do to make sure my foam topper stays in good condition. At least once a month we strip the bed and flip the topper and make sure that what was at my feet is now at my head and the top is now the bottom. The topper is inspected for creases, rips, or tears. I have yet to find one. We also switch the hospital mattress from foot to head and vice versa. One of the things I was worried about using a foam topper was using an adjustable hospital bed. My head and feet are raised. What is this doing to the foam topper? Nothing. It is perfectly fine. This is important to know. When you wash the padded mattress cover DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!!! Let it air dry. We read the instructions and dried it on low and it seems to have shrunk a little bit. In width not in length. It is about an inch narrower on both sides now. This isn't a huge deal, I don't sleep on the edge of the bed. Also, twin XL sheets are not going to fit perfectly on this bed. We got straps that make the sheets tighter. Deep pocket sheets are not your friend with a hospital bed.

This is my take on this topper. It is comfortable. I do feel like I am being cradled when sleeping. I don't move much in my sleep as it is a twin bed and when it is adjusted it is hard to sleep on your side unless you flatten the bed more. My back and hip pain has diminished. It will never go away fully, but I don't have to wrap a heating pad around my lower back for an hour after getting up just to be able to move. This is not a firm topper, nor is it is super soft. I guess for me I am Goldilocks and I found the one that is just right. At the end of the day, it is about your preference. This is perfect for me and if I ever need to replace this topper I will be buying this same one again.

With the material and size availability of mattress for a pop up this has been my perfect fix. It is low profile and comfortable. The topper over the memory foam was enough to not have the heat transfer that normally happens and has turned me off in the past since sweating all night is not contusive to a good nights sleep. Little bigger then the mattress area in the pop up but the overhang is not an issue since it is the width so it only overhangs into the camper and doesn't interfere with the tear down for travel

This topper was a great choice for my bed both me and my husband can sleep in it all night without pain. My biggest complaint is the smell. It takes probably two good weeks for the smell to go away. You gotta do something with that. and that is why I gave it four stars.

I spent hours reading reviews of several different mattress toppers, and I ended up choosing this one because more people were happy overall, and there were fewer complaints about odor. When I opened the box, I was concerned that I got fake foam because it didn't match the photo on Amazon, so I sent photos to ViscoSoft support and they assured me that it was legit and that some of their factories use different colors. When I used the QR code to register (and get 2 extra years of warranty!) and watch the set-up video, it showed the exact foam and packaging that I received.

Upon opening the foam, I was immediately relieved that the odor was minimal. If you've recently painted a room with a good quality latex paint, you can smell the fresh paint, but it's not a bad smell like the paint from years ago. Well, that's exactly what this smelled like. I set it up on a table in the garage to open up, and I thought I'd leave it there overnight to air out, but when I checked 4 hours later it had fully taken shape and the smell was so minimal I decided to put it on the bed. Carrying it upstairs wasn't so easy, so opening it up on the bed itself would have saved me that step. It was a full queen size -- not too short like some of the other brands I read about. The cover was easy to put on -- it is also compressed in the package, but it fluffs out as well. No odor, and the material is very soft. It completely covers the top and sides of the foam.

And finally, I could get on, and YES! It was a whole new bed! It was perfect! It's supportive but soft. It holds my body, but takes away the pressure points. There is minimal sinking -- I can easily change position, and I'm comfortable in any position. My neck is so happy because the pillows even seem different being on a softer, more supportive surface. I slept well and didn't have to keep shifting positions because of painful pressure points. I love it!

I waited years and years to buy a Saatva. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered the traditional plush mattress. It was a mistake. A very big mistake that caused us many nights of lost sleep. We experienced back pain, numerous sleepless nights, and I even finally started sleeping in my recliner most nights to get some sleep. I relented, after realizing it was the mattress causing all the issues, called to return the mattress. They asked, and I agreed, to try their Saatva mattress topper. The reasoning was that 6+ months was not enough time for the mattress to "˜break in'. I agreed to give it 30 days. 30 semi sleepless days later, I called to return the mattress. They said I could keep the topper, which I put on our new Tommy Baha mattress we purchased from our discount salvage store. I threw in the towel with paying thousands for what I felt a garbage mattress. Sleep improved 75% after buying the new mattress, but I just knew we could get to 100%. After lots of research, I purchased this topper. Out with the Saatva topper and in with the Viscosoft pillow top mattress pad. WOWZA!!!!!!!!! This mattress topper is what I feel as though sleeping on a heavenly cloud must feel like! It is plush, pillowy, luxurious, heavenly, glorious, etc"¦"¦to infinity and beyond!!! My husband said that the only issue with this topper is that he hates to get out of bed now in the morning!!

I have owned similar ones in the past, but I would agree that the quality of this one surpasses the others. I really love the fact the topper has DEEP pockets, so there is plenty of coverage that tucks nicely under the mattress with lots of extra to spare. That is a bonus.

It took us years to realize that it is critical to ensure we get enough quality sleep, especially as we get older. So with that in mind, we are willing to spend extra on a higher quality product when it is related to sleep. That is why we chose this topper after reading all of the reviews. We are definitely not sorry!
