Overall, I am really happy with this wood chipper. I am using it to ckean up my woods from all the storm damage. Pros: Easy to move around - especially like the handles on the chute, and the large wheels, that make it easy to move around. Engine seems to be of good quality and starts easley.
CONS: The exit chute isn't adjustable from side to side. You have to unhitch it from what ever your using to tow it, other wise the tow vehicle gets bury in the wood chippings. I would recommend the manufacturer to also modify this discharge chute to be able to discharge 90 degrees. Other than that, I am really happy with it so far. My woods ckean up is coming along nicely.

It's strong enough to do do what it is supposed to do. The technology is good however, the sheet metal work needs improvement, which has no influence on the functionality of the machine. Also the placement of the emergency button has to be placed differently because it's easy to trigger it by mistake. All in all at this point, I would buy it again.
Know what you want it for.

Glad I got the 5 inch throat. I have only used it for blackberry Vines. Wish it had a self feed roller like the Vermeer 1000xl. Those are safer otherwise you have to be really conscientious of how far you put your hands down. The blades are extremely sharp and will cut anything thrust down there without a problem.
The pull start is pretty stiff if you can get an electric start it would be nicer.
Remember 5 inch throat doesn't mean it will handle a 5 inch diameter branch. Maybe it would if there were no side branches to cause it to hold up in the throat.
Overall it's a good machine for small garden use.
I only wanted it for my vines and the occasional small diameter branch. For everything bigger i have a couple of real wood chippers. One 12 and another 18 inch throat with autofeed rollers. Oh and make sure everything is cleared out of the chamber before quitting. Doesn't matter how big the chipper. It will jam otherwise.

For $1050, this wood chipper is fantastic.
If you're expecting it to mow through 4" branches, forget it: not for a product at this price. In fact, anything larger than 1.5 to 2" needs to be pushed in with some care, especially after the blade has dulled a little. Bht this chipper will get the job done"¦ again, with a little care.
I had brush from seven 80-foot oak, birch, and pine trees to cut, amounting to a good 1500-2000 branches ranging from 1/2" to 2.5" diameter, along with a few thousand more thin branches of 1/2" or less. I essentially needed a chipper to to take care of this job that was inexpensive enough to dispose of after.
I was able to cut them all in about 15 hours and roughly 5 gallons of gas.
Assembly is easy. The engine starts reliably. The device will self-feed branches as long as there are no impediments that would require you to push them into the blade. The blade does dull fairly quickly but I didn't need to sharpen it to complete the job.
One issue I encountered repeatedly was clogging. Push too many small branches in at once and the engine would become bogged down and stall. Small twigs would immediately fall into the rotating blade mechanism and prevent me from pull-starting the engine. In such cases, I had to open the hopper and sometimes the chute to clear the wood and allow the mechanism to move freely - a 10-minute task. After doing this easily 20+ times, I learned to feed the wood in carefully.
Overall, this chipper isn't as powerful as it claims to be, but for $1000, it's a tremendous deal, as it'll handle a large project.
