Wicked blade
Bob Campbell✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 6, 2023
This is the poor man's version of a $400+ James Williams martial knife that is very hard to find in stock - even at that price point. That said - this is one wicked fighting blade. It has a needle - and I mean needle - sharp point that you probably don't want to stab into anything hard like wood. If doing so didn't seriously blunt it, leveraging it out would have a good chance to break or bend it. The edge is sharp but not hair popping. A little stropping helps. The sheath is good but the clip is a major pain to attach. Tip - use some tape to hold the base in place while you maneuver the screw. The biggest drawback for most will be the grip. It's not comfortable and not meant to be. As you may have noticed, there is no guard. The grip is meant to grab your hand like death with even moderate pressure and this surely does that. This is a more aggressive version of the Yukanto grip. With any kind of solid grip, I wouldn't be afraid to stab.
If you've ever wanted one of those expensive, super steel Williams martial tantos and couldn't find one or afford it, this is a helluva good alternative.
Follow up - The grip is savage. I used the knife to cut up some cardboard and pretty soon my hand was hurting. Even after donning some gloves, I could still painfully feel that grip. On the plus side, it certainly didn't move at all.
Top shelf defensive blade

Sure, you can go find one of those Holy Grail Williams Blade Design Knives that costs $500 and stays in your velvet-lined collection case. Or you can buy the $120 version and stick it under your car seat, in your bag, under your pillow or wherever you keep your insurance policies.

It's decently sharp, super cleanly ground, and has the rough, right-off-the-machine grinds on the handle that make it insanely grippy. If you're planning on carving spoons with it you might have some issue with this. If you plan on using it to shank enemy sentries then this is probably not going to be a sizable issue.

Sheath is good, G10 handles are nice, carbon steel blade is nice. Looks and feels like the custom, with some roughness you'd expect from a knife straight off the CNC machine. Definitely recommended.
Excellent tactical knife

This is an excellent tactical knife if you want one made for stabbing and cutting as a backup weapon. I would choose something else, shorter and less pointy, as a general purpose utility knife. I have the original hissatsu, and this loses nothing compared to it aside from about an inch of penetration depth. The G10 handle texturing is amazing for locking your hand into place. The point of balance is about an inch back into the handle. The sheath fits well with no rattle and excellent retention. The edge was decent but could use some touch up. I think this is the best choice out there for a tactical dagger under $150.

Excellent knife

I'm a serious self-defense practitioner and have had my eye on this knife since it came out. So I picked one up, and put it through an abusive test regimen. Used it on balistic dummies and hog carcasses. Did a large number of thrusting and slashing tests. Also used it on cardboard targets, sisal mats, bamboo poles. It held up very well with good edge retention. When it got a bit dull was easy to sharpen. As a blade that is obviously designed for defensive use, it is an excellent choice for such. I took a grinder to my test knive, dulled the blade, rounded the tip to use as a trainer. I then bought another new one to carry. This is an excellent and well priced knife, I highly recommend it.
