I needed a floor/chair lift for my wife whose falls have become more frequent and I am unable to lift her up. After I spent a long time researching for the ideal unit I finally settled for this one. It arrived yesterday afternoon in a rather large Amazon box which was awkward to carry and with what sounded like a smaller box moving around quite a lot inside. Sure enough, upon opening the Amazon outer box, there was the smaller product box inside with what I can only describe as a few strips of brown packing paper between the boxes. Fearing a trip to the local store to return this item due to broken parts, I opened the manufacturer's box to find the machine was well protected with Styrofoam and all parts were in one piece and in working order.
The instructions for charging the controller are a little confusing but reading the sticker on the controller, which is easily missed, clears things up. Once everything was charged and set up I tried it out myself and I was totally impressed. Very sturdy which is why it is as heavy as it is, so easy to use and the height was exactly what was needed. I only have one annoying complaint. Within a few days of ordering this and paying around $450 before tax and the extended warranty I bought with it the price was reduced by $50. Bad timing, I know, and I do believe it is worth the $450 I paid for it. But is there any chance ..........?????

I recently got this lift chair a week ago and it has really impressed me! It's such a relief because now I can easily get off the floor with minimal assistance especially whenever I have unexpected falls. It also portable and lightweight, weighing around 30 lbs, which makes it super easy for my older parents to carry around. Not to mention, it's incredibly easy to use too. I been looking for something like this for a while - it has made my life so much easier.

But I feel like it could use some improvements to make it even better to earn a perfect five-star rating. For example, having armrests or handles would be awesome because during those moments when the chair is going up or down, I don't feel completely secure. It's a small thing, but it would make a big difference for me. This lift chair has been a total game-changer for me! It's made a huge positive impact on my daily life, and I'm really grateful for that. I'm pretty happy with this lift chair for now, but with a few tweaks, it could easily earn a five-star rating!

I cannot say enough about this product! I would give it a rating of 10 if I could!
My in-laws live right next-door to us and my mother-in-law has been falling down very often in the night. My father-in-law cannot pick her up, so we inevitably get the phone call to come help.
We are going on vacation next month and I have been Fixating on how this will work while we are away.
I looked through many many other products, such as this, and chose this one based on the reviews and its simplicity.
We received it one day ago and immediately opened it. Very easy to take out of the box and no putting anything together.
We had mock drills with both my father-in-law, trying it and seeing what my mother-in-law would be attempting and we also helped her to the floor so she can see how she can pull herself onto it in an emergency if she's home alone.
The device brings you to an almost full sitting position which is easy for her to get up from.
I am very thankful for devices that help families with these matters. I hope more people hear about it's ease of use and practicality!.
It's not easy getting old, but it's a fact of life and it's nice to have devices such as this that help the family!

Unfortunately, for an unknown reason I have been falling but lack upper body strength prevents me from getting up on my own - even with some help from my husband. After recent surgery, I took a gentle fall and it took a lot of work --on my husband's part -- to get me up onto a chair.

I had seen this device a while ago and thought it was interesting, so I ordered it. My husband is very mechanically minded so he had it out of the box and setting up in about 3 minutes. He took a test "ride" and it worked as described in the ad.

A couple of days later, I fell during the night -- he got the machine, set it up and I slid on and up I went to bed level and transferred off.

This has given me a sense of comfort of both body and spirit.

I bought this because if my Mom ends up on the floor she can't get up. (She often bends down then goes to a knee and sits from there.). These are not dangerous falls so no need for an ambulance. But struggling to help her up hurt my back one too many times.

When she is on the floor I bring this to her. She does struggle to scoot herself up onto the seat since she still needs to lift her butt and do little hops to get on the seat. That's tough for her. But if she manages to get on the seat it is smooth sailing from that point on. The chair lifts her into sitting position and she can stand from there. One time when she couldn't manage to get on the seat she laid on it belly down and I was able to get her to kneeling position using the chair and get her standing from there. Not ideal but better than the alternatives.

The chair is a little heavy but I much rather carry this chair to her then lift her and risk throwing out my back yet again.
