Our neighbor has an old dog, that for some unknown reason has recently taken to just sitting in his yard, and bark. It does not really bother us, because we can not hear him in the house normally. But, we like to take a nap once in a while, and with it quiet, you hear the dog, Anyway this sound machine drowns out the dog barking. My wife says it also helps drown out my snoring.....

As a added feature, it has a night light that is adjustable brightness and can be turned off/on easily by touching the speaker grid that is on top. You can also turn on/off the sound by touching the speaker grid for 2 seconds.

This sound machine is exactly what I needed. We've been using it for our 2 year old for about a year and I love it so much we just bought another one for his baby sister that's on the way. We usually only use one sound (fan noise) but it is nice to have options. We don't usually use the night light, but when we travel we will bring it and it's nice to not need to pack a separate nightlight. is very easy to travel with and fits nicely on his shelf. The one downside that I saw others have as well are the buttons - it's hard to find the right button in the dark or when you're not looking (we have our's tucked behind a picture frame) and often will change the sound or turn on the light before turning it on/off, but that's the problem with most things now a days"¦no more buttons, just sensors.

I originally got this to drown out neighbors being noisy at night occasionally. It worked ok for that, but I had to turn it up fairly loud to drown out their arguing.
