Great Generational Improvement to M2

I have owned a number of Timekettle translators now and this is my new favorite. The form factor is much more secure in the ear than the previous models (and even their Edge unit). Sound quality is good as is the noise isolation. The app interface is quick and intuitive, and being able to quickly switch the screen from the side by side, to the facing mode is very handy. In order to have the phone and music features, this unit sacrifices the simultaneous mode of the Edge unit, but that is a reasonable trade off for the other functionality. Also, being able to keep both your earbuds in and quickly transition from phone or music into translation, and without needing to share earbuds, is quite convenient indeed. As for limitations, if you are using any of the languages that don't have offline downloads available, you are limited by the speed of your internet connection. Noisy environments can be a challenge, too, although these buds greatly improve upon that for the wearer. The person using the phone will either need the volume up or will be reading the translation. For that matter, both parties can be reading the translations quite easily, too. I'm hoping Timekettle will keep adding to their offline libraries of languages, improve upon their Fish Card process for downloading them (and make it account based versus device based, meaning that my multiple devices could each access the downloaded libraries). Finally, I hope they could integrate the simultaneous mode into this device so that ALL functions could happen on one device.

Easy for me, not easy for aging parents

My elderly mom wanted to get these for my aging dad. She's originally from Vietnam and when they go to visit, my mom has to act as translator for everyone. We got these and my husband & I were able to use these quite easily for a Spanish-English conversation. In a conversation with my mom, the Vietnamese translation worked for me, but it was a bit complex for my mom to be able to get to function without my specific direction. The conversation of Spanish between me and my father was barely manageable. The conversation between my mom & dad failed multiple times. While the translation itself worked really well, my elderly parents could not make the technology work between them.
I wanted to keep the device but my mom insisted it would not work for them. I think as technology goes, it's just too complex for the elderly. I do think this is an amazing useful tool for travelers or for refugees. It's one's step closer to the Star Trek universal translator & almost like a Douglas Adams babble fish!!! Totally love it!

A mi parecer son bastante buenos nada que envidiarle a otras marcas... Pero tiene un pequeño detalle que se conecta y se desconecta en el momento menos esperado no lo hace siempre es eventual pero lo hace el sonido es bastante bueno no es muy fuerte es lo único que no me gusta pero se escucha bien al traductor le darÃas dos estrellas no funciona de forma eficiente
