The cord that I originally had was the standard orange 50 ft. I was using it with a backpack vacuum.
The clip would not work since the orange plug wasn't "beefy" enough.
I had to get a different cord because it wasn't carrying enough amps. My new industrial ext. cord had a larger plug and it now fits great!

I needed two of these as I had to go over a fan outlet and an adapter to plug my leaf blower into a retractable cord. It worked and I could tighten the hook ends with a wrench. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We have LED Edison light strings on our back deck. The connecting plugs come apart every time we move the light strings and trying to reconnect them while they're hanging from a slanted ceiling isn't easy. This connector solved that problem and saved us a lot of time, effort & headaches trying to reconnect the strings. We did have to use a wrench to bend the connector to be sure the plugs would stay together, but it's good knowing the connector is strong enough to not come apart! We also covered the connector in black electrical tape to hide the red and blend with the black strings. So, a suggestion to the manufacturer is to make the connectors in black, white, yellow and orange - the standard colors of electrical cords.
