This purchase was an impulse buy and I love it. I've made both hard and soft boiled eggs. With the built in timer there is no guessing. The eggs come out perfect every time. I really like that it requires very little water to do the job. Soft boiled takes less than a quarter cup. The only drawback, and it is minor is that extra large eggs won't fit. Meaning, the unit is suppose to hold 7 eggs. That is dependent on the size of the eggs. This unit cooks so fast one can always cook in batches if eggs are too large.

I bought the least popular color as there is a price difference. I keep the thing out of sight in a kitchen cabinet. When I want devilled eggs, which I love, I pour a measured amount of distilled water in the provided cup, add it to the bottom of the cooker, and lay the rack on top of it. I then puncture the fat part of the egg with the pin that is installed on the bottom of the provided measuring cut. Pop the cover on it and turn it on. After 13-14 minutes goes by, it starts beeping and I unplug it. I keep the eggs covered for another 3 minutes or so, then remove the cover and drop the eggs in cold water to stop the cooking process. Total cooking time: 17 minutes for hard boiled.

Once the egg is no longer hot (lukewarm is acceptable), I crack the shell a little and start peeling. I've never had such an easy time of peeling flawlessly cooked hardboiled eggs. Nothing sticks to the egg so it's easy to lift the shell fragments off in chunks.

I have chilled the eggs for a couple of hours after cooking before I start deviling the yolks and I have started immediately after peeling with the egg not cold. It doesn't seem to make a bit of difference one way or the other.

BTW, if you ever cook eggs and the egg yolks turn green on you and smell sulfurous, you have cooked them too long. I learned that long ago from one of my coworkers who would stink up the breakroom with her eggs at break time every morning.

Product came quickly and worked great for making eggs. Instructions were straightforward and a lot more convenient than boiling eggs!

I like to make marinated soft boiled eggs so this is super convenient for it! It's also pretty compact so it doesn't take up too much room in my kitchen.

This egg cooker is easy to use as it comes with a cup that indicates how much water to put in to have what kind of egg you want to have. We enjoyed using it when we need to make ramen and have one of those soft yolk eggs to go with the ramen. The only problem with this egg cooker is that it is difficult to clean. It would have either egg white or other residue on the steam pallet and it just won't come off. Aside from that, this is a great tool to have if you want to have soft boiled eggs.

This egg cooker is absolutely amazing. So easy to use! Best of all cooking is fast and consist, no more guessing, each and every time eggs come out perfect In any form, poached, omelette or hard boiled. Prices is great and takes very little space. You can't go wrong with it.
