Paper Cutter

I didn't need to do much, and it didn't have to be the most accurate thing in the world, I was just trimming name tags I printed so I could laminate them. It did better than I predicted. Not perfect, but better. Dang good for the money I spent and I am extremely pleased with the purchase.
Update: Great customer service

UPDATE 03/31/24: The customer service is exceptional. They reached out to me after reading my review, and I shared with them my dissatisfaction. Moonsmile sent me another paper trimmer.
Old review: I bought this cutter January 2024 and it won't cut paper. The blade is dull in March 2024. I threw it in the trash.

I am kicking myself for not buying this sooner. Saves me all kids of time! Very good for the price!
Works great!

It works well! However the lock feature is easy to bump loose. My cats sometimes open it, so I keep it up and away. Other than that it's a great paper cutter.
Saving my sanity

I have a 'thing' about needing perfectly straight lines. After starting a small business over summer, I decided to buy a Fiskars paper *slicer* for my needs. I had originally wanted a guillotine-style paper *cutter* like this one, but wanting to conserve every penny, I went with the slicer to save a bit of money -- a mistake I will not make again.
The slicer was not cutting consistently straight lines, and while it wasn't incredibly noticeable, I noticed it... and it was driving me nuts. I even opted to use scissors to fix the especially wonky cuts. I figured out that the wire used in some paper slicers can easily become loosened, and a moving line isn't a straight line!
After my patience and sanity wore dangerously thin, I decided to look into a guillotine-style paper cutter. I chose this one based on reviews from other small business owners & crafters, and I'm glad I did. So far, this product has restored (most of) my sanity. It's not PERFECTLY straight every time, but truthfully I chalk that up to user error. It takes a little time to get used to lining up the paper, what type of pressure works best with which type of paper, etc. But it is already 10 times better than the paper slicer.
I like that this product has a locking feature and a finger guard for safety. Lord knows I'm clumsy and have cut myself on my own scissors before, so I'm happy with these features lol. I could also understand not wanting the finger guard, as you could probably get even more precision without the barrier. But for now, it works. Plus, I like the surface size and measured grid lines, as well the paper storage container underneath.
So far I've used it to cut regular printer paper, cardstock paper, and laminated items. And it took me about half the time compared to when I was fighting with my paper slicer. It's a lightweight product overall, and I'm happy to say that it's working as it should. So far, so good. I will update if anything changes!
