This edition of the OralB iO is really all one could need in a powered toothbrush. With the exception of the fast charging, none of the additional features offered by advanced models are of any use to me. In fact, the idea of a toothbrush reporting my brushing habit to my phone and giving me analysis would be an anathema to me.

There's no question that this toothbrush get my teeth cleaner than any other I've used. My wife has the sonic type by another brand. I tried it for a while before deciding to get this OralB iO.

No More Giggles:
The worst thing for me about the sonic toothbrush was the tickling. The roof of my mouth and upper gums appear to be highly sensitive. Using a sonic toothbrush along the inside of my upper teeth would send me into hysterics (not the good kind). This OralB iO toothbrush does not. I suspect it is in some way realted to the round shape but couldn't say for sure.

Conclusion:
For the money, I can imagine no better powered toothbrush.

I chose this over the Philips product (which may be just fine) because of the round head. I have some crooked teeth and I feel that the smaller head gets into the crowded teeth more easily.
The unit comes with two brushes. One is the normal brush and one is a soft brush. I use the normal as I do not have any sensitivity in my gums and I feel that it may give me a better cleaning but I may not be right.
It comes with a charging base that is an inductive charger meaning that there are no electrical contacts that may get wet.
Use is dead simple. It allegedly has three modes but I just switch it in and go. Cleaning is a breeze as the brush detaches and one can also rinse the handle ( which they instruct you to do) without fear of damaging the unit.
Using it for about a month and I feel my teeth are cleaner and I see a definite improvement in the reduction of staining. Ironically the timer in the brush gets me through brushing faster than my old manual routine where I counted in my head ( I admit not accurate but apparently I erred on the side of longer than shorter).
Overall a very positive impression of the robust quality and performance.

I have only used this toothbrush once so far but I love it already! I have been using the Oral B 1000 for at least a year and it works just fine but I couldn't stand how loud it was. I found myself avoiding using it because it was so loud and it drove me crazy. I had been thinking about upgrading but didn't want to spend the money. I decided Black Friday was the time to buy and started researching. I started by looking at reviews and ratings and then looked up quieter electric toothbrushes. I landed on the io series and decided to go with the 3 because it was cheapest and still had the features I wanted.

1. It's so much quieter than the 1000!
2. It has settings for normal clean, sensitive and whitening. I'm fine with these 3 and thought brushes with more settings seemed like overkill.
3. It has a pressure sensor. I wasn't sure if I would care about this but when I went to use the toothbrush at my usual pressure it showed me that I wasn't using enough pressure! I was surprised and now I'm wondering if I haven't been brushing my teeth well for a long time!

After using it, my teeth feel so clean like I just got back from the dentist (and I haven't been for a while!) Since I just got it, I can't speak to battery life or charging time but I typically just leave mine on the charger all the time anyway. I am super happy with the purchase!

I'm a mouth hygiene freak and if you visited my bathroom; it's full of toothpaste and toothbrushes of all brands. This tool ended my obsession. It's powerful and super easy to use. It clears all the teeth surface perfectly without an extra work in your part.

The io series of the Oral-B has been a game changer for these toothbrushes. The replacement heads cost more but they're far superior technology behind these vs the old ones. Unfortunately I'm a big fan of sonicare toothbrush, nothing else feels as clean as my Sonicare. I do love the fact that the smaller round brush head reaches areas of the teeth which Sonicare may not as well but Sonicare is more powerful. The new vibrations in this set give your gums a wonderful massage feeling while you're brushing. The 30 second pace doesn't stop at 2 minutes, it keeps buzzing every 30 seconds. The stem of the brush head is also quite thick vs sonicare. The charging base at the bottom collects water like a bowl, it should've been designed better to keep water flowing off the base.
