After research, I picked this one!
tracy✓ Verified Purchase•September 16, 2023
After 3 months of research, I picked the Classic Brands w/ massage for a few reasons. I was looking at beds from Overstock, Wayfair, Walmart, Costco and the mattress stores in town, it was Black Friday sales, and I finally decided on this one on Amazon. I picked this model due to the clean look of the upholstered frame & the height of the legs, no platform blocks needed. Due to a small bedroom, space is a big problem, so I needed something high enough to store many items underneath. I knew that the platform blocks I usually use are out due to the massage feature. After assembled , I measured 11 inches of storage from floor to bottom of adjustable base, and the base is about 3.5-4 inches before the mattress. The only problem I have w/ the bed is that the USB plugs are only on 1 side. Again, with the super small space, I need to have the bed against a wall on the right side. So the USB plugs are against the wall & not usable. BUT, that is not a deal breaker.
I decided to purchase an adjustable bed after being diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back & tired of sleeping w/ pillows under my legs. This adjustable frame allows me to lift legs up (letting my lower back "release" during sleeping) and lift/ raise head without using 3 pillows. The massage is not really a "massage," more like a vibrating bed. Yes, like the beds in certain motels that cost 1 quarter! BUT, after the vibrating feature stops, I can feel a difference. For this reason, I would spend a few dollars more for the "massage" feature again. I will have this bed for another year or two, while I am renting this apt, but after I leave apt the bed will be going into my old room at my mother's house...for when I visit. One more thing, I couldn't decide between a wall-hugging adj frame or this one while I was browsing frames. The "Wall-hugging" frame moves up the back wall, allowing for the person to stay the same distance from their nightstand. This frame lifts forward pushing you closer to the end of the bed & this makes my nightstand slightly out of reach when fully lifted. Not a big deal, but the next adj frame I purchase will be a wall-hugger.
I was also looking for a new mattress during those 3 months of searching. Due to my back, I wanted a firmer mattress than what I was currently sleeping on (a plush spring Sealy mattress) in the range of a 7-8 out of 10 on the firmness scale. I did NOT want the sink-in feeling & heat of a normal memory foam, but I had to find something that was adjustable bed friendly. After narrowing it down, I choose the 10 inch Lucid Hybrid w/ Latex foam. This is the mattress w/ the green stripe around the zipper. I was going back & forth trying to decide between the 10" and 12" mattress, but ended up picking the 10" inch so it can bend better with the adjustable frame. I am very happy with both of my purchases!
PROS:
1) High clearance for under bed storage. 11 inches
2) Vibrating feature is great
3) Upholstered frame looks great on its own
4) Head & feet adjust to to high degree levels.
5) Easy set up. I did it within 20 min.
CONS:
1) USB is not on both sides, only right side which is against wall
2) When "head" is fully up, can't reach nightstand...it is now behind me.
3) Don't lose remote. No "flat" button on frame. There might be a reset button under frame, but can't reach/find.
All in all, I love this bed frame!

Update 6/10/18: I just wrote my review and the USB ports stopped charging. I looked under the bed and its still plugged in and its warm but they dont work - I've gone all over Amazon to try to figure pout how to message to get help and I can't find assistance anywhere. .So far I am very happy with this bed base - I have had it for three weeks so far. I have been sleeping in a recliner for over 2 years because of fibromyalgia. I finally decided to try sleeping in a bed again. I had a memory foam mattress previously but I would be so comfortable that I wouldn't move enough and then when I did move I would be in a lot of pain. I then slept in a hospital bed that had a crappy mattress. The adjust-ability of the bed was great but the mattress was not so I decided to marry the two.
I researched so many adjustable bed frames and memory foam mattresses that I was beginning to drive myself batty. I had decided on this bed frame rather quickly - the mattress took a little longer. I had decided on this frame because it was in the right price range, it had good reviews, and the functions were what I was looking for.
I received the bed base and had no problems setting it up (I ordered a full size bed). I'm 53 and on disability but it was really easy to set up. It was for the most part together right out of the box. I had emptied my room and the UPS driver brought the box right in my bedroom. I initially put two of the pieces for each leg on, keeping one section off, I later decided to take the other section off to lower the bed because I have a small dog and if I put the foot of the bed up it was a bit too high for her to be jumping on and off and I didn't want her to get hurt. I did find it a bit odd that the box that has the wires plugged into it slides into a metal shelf under the bed frame but there was no way to make it stay in there. It would have fallen out when flipping the bed frame over so I used a twistie to secure it in the metal casing. I had someone help me flip it over so that I would not damage the legs and I was good to go.
I have not used the memory buttons yet but I plan on it. I do find that I sleep in the zero gravity position, with a couple of small adjustments most of the time and it seems to be the most comfortable position for me to sleep in. I was very surprised to find that the massage actually works! I thought that it couldn't possibly work since it has to go through the mattress. I also thought that since it was just head and feet that it would only do head and feet. But, at the high setting you definitely can feel it and it vibrates the whole body. Of course its not like a massage but you do get good vibration from it (it startles my dog so I don't do it that much). Its also good that I live on a first floor. If I was above someone I would not use it because I imagine the ceiling of the person under me would be shaking.
The only minor problem I had was that I have hard wood floors and the bed would move easily and if it got too close to the wall and I lowered the head of the bed it would get stuck on the plug in the outlet and it wouldn't go down all the way. So I put a rug at the bottom of my bed so now it doesn't move around at all and I don't have to worry about that. Other than that - which is a very minor issue- I have not found any other cons with this bed frame.

I ordered the "Affordamatic" in a bundle with the 10.5" cool gel memory foam mattress. I didn't think added features such as a USB port, massage, memory settings, etc of the other Classic Brand adjustable bed model would be important to my expected usage and I had to buy a bed quickly, without any planning/budgeting because I was ready to murder my husband after having months of poor sleep due to his snoring...it was a crisis situation, fix the lack of sleep issue now or go to prison tomorrow. So I made the decision to go with what I thought would solve the problem at the most accessible price point, this bed did all that, it was comfortable and just raising the head of the bed a few inches completely stopped my husband's snoring. I slept a solid eight hours for the first time in over a year, I was thrilled...it met all my needs and expectations- but there's more to the story!
When the bed frame arrived I immediately found a problem with the foot motor; there is a plastic sleeve guide that keeps the piston in alignment as the bed changes position and this part wasn't secured properly by its rivets like the head motor was, allowing the piston end to slide out of the motor housing support. I could not push the piston back into the correct position because the rivets that were supposed to be holding it would not allow full insertion, so when the foot was elevated, the piston would get out of alignment, and wobble and I just knew this was going to end badly. I contacted Classic Brands customer service by phone the next day. All I had to do was e-mail a picture of the product tags (for identification) and my amazon invoice. I thought they would order a part, but they sent out a completely new bed base the same day I sent the requested information, it was delivered the next day....but WAIT! There's more!
You need to know this bed frame is HEAVY... do not plan on moving it alone, no matter who you are, and if you are like me, over 40 and not in the gym as often as you should be, get your 20-something kids to move it for you, especially if you have to go up a flight of stairs, like we did. So I knew a new bed was coming and I really DID NOT want to move the original because it is so heavy and awkward. The motors pop in and out easily with cotter pins, and the power/control cables have modular connections. I was planning on just taking the foot motor off the new bed and swapping it with the old one to save my back. HOWEVER, when the new frame was delivered, it wasn't the same economy version, they sent me the "fancy" upgraded one with the memory remote, USB ports, massage etc... The motors were the same but the new frame was....sexy, I couldn't pass it up. It had better aesthetics, the frame upholstery was nicer and a little more built-up. It also had adjustable height legs and I had just downsized from a 16" thick conventional king mattress bed to a 10.5" gel foam queen and was feeling really low to the ground so being able to raise my sleeping surface back up a few more inches was nice. The USB ports I didn't really care about, my husband made the comment that he thought it was odd they were on only one side of the bed and it seemed that would just contribute to marital conflict...but maybe the design is intended to make you snuggle up close to share power ports? I guess it's all up to your point of view and you really shouldn't be using your devices in bed anyway, poor sleep hygiene :) Anyway, the memory remote features are TOTALLY worth the upgrade. It has a preset button for TV viewing, "zero gravity" and the most important "Anti-snore" positions, and they are literally perfect as programmed. The massage feature- these are basically "rumble packs" with different patterns of vibration and a timer. One pack at the foot and one at the head. I don't know, it's ok I guess, but not a dealbreaker for me. One setting I find very similar to sitting on an idling Ford 8N tractor, and another like sleeping with a very large purring cat...I like them both of those settings because I like my cat and tractors...but others might not find the experience as special. Two other things that made me think the upgrade would be worthwhile for people debating between the Affordamatic and the upgrade are that the upgraded one has a 9-volt battery back-up so if you are without power you can still move the bed components, which may be important if you are a little less nimble. The upgraded bed remote also has a built-in flashlight, another handy feature in a power-outage situation or in general. I also found the upgraded remote control pictograms to be clearer/better which might be a consideration if you planned to have this in a guest room.
So what am I recommending here? If you really only need the most basic function of adjustable head and foot you will be pleased with this bed, I was...but if you are riding the fence between the extra cost of the comfort upholstered model, I would encourage you to go with the extras. Either way, the customer support from Classic Brands was outstanding, no-hassle what-so-ever and I thought being upgraded to the better base was a very nice surprise compensation for having to deal with repacking the old, defective bed. I would definitely buy a Classic Brands set again.

I haven't been able to sleep in a flat bed in years. Partly due to the fact that I have kyphosis so I have to sleep on my side, partly because of back surgery. Consequently I've slept on a love seat or in a recliner. When traveling, I've had to make do by creating a bed from whatever furniture and pillows are available.
We bought a good quality 12" foam king size mattress several years ago. When we ordered the 2 twin XL adjustable bed frames I read the reviews and questions and found out that you could synchronize the beds to move in unison. In hopes of saving some money, I held off on ordering 2 mattresses in hopes that we could use the mattress we already had. So far, so good!
The beds were easy to assemble. The remotes need to be paired to the control box. Do that before you flip the bed over and you'll save yourself some time and having to lay on the floor to reach under the bed. A beep confirms the remote has been paired. Nice.
These beds vibration motors have 3 speeds. The description didn't indicate that when I read through it several times before purchasing. I almost bought the Posture + model just to get the 3 speeds. I would have been disappointed, as this model also had it, and it's really just a little vibration. It may be more impressive with a thinner mattress, but no matter. It is a nice extra.
We had to put the legs on their highest setting to fit our bed. Due to the style of our bed, we are not able to use the USB connections. If I were to make a recommendation, it would be to make the USB box separate from the bed frame so that it could be relocated to another part of the frame. This would also enable to locate one on each side of the bed, and mount them in an accessible location regardless of your bed style. Built in, in a fixed position on one side, when using 2 Twin XL frames to make a King size, the frame on the right will have the USB ports blocked by the left frame (when facing to bed from the foot).
One of the vibration motors was broken upon arrival. It was making a rattling sound that I first mistook for thick paper being crinkled. I contacted Classic Brands and they overnighted me a replacement motor which was easy to replace, and gave me the opportunity to speak with "Gayle" who everyone raves about. I understand now why. She was very helpful and followed up via email with a tracking number. I took the old motor apart and found that a small plastic tab had broken off, probably in transit, that was being moved around by the motor until it eventually jammed the motor. Luckily, I unplugged it from the control box as it could have overheated and potentially caused a fire.
I am please with the build quality. I am an Engineer, and trained to look for weak points or potential failure points. I initially see none. I've been sleeping in the bed since I got it set up on 7/3, and have been able to sleep through the night AND GET UP IN THE MORNING UNASSISTED! That's huge!
They do not recommend raising the bed beyond the max height of 10.5" which is the maximum achievable height with the modular legs provided, so know that going in and don't plan to raise it higher due to the fact that the legs could bend.
I am looking for a bed skirt that will work on the bed frame now. It would be nice if Classic Brands offered them so I wouldn't have to try to find one that will work mechanically. This seems like it would be a good new product for them. Hint, I'd make it a wrap around style that would secure to the base magnetically. This would aid in washing as well as you could attach the magnets to the washtub and dryer tub.
There are a number of sellers who appear to sell this same bed under different names. I'd recommend buying from Classic Brands as they support their product and are good to work with.
Update 8/9/18: New massage motor arrived and was installed and is functioning. A few days ago the head motor on one of the beds stopped working. I emailed Classic Brands and they suspected it was the control box and overnighted a replacement. That did not remedy the problem so I emailed them again and they overnighted a new motor which arrived today. The new motor has different cabling that will not connect to the control box. I have emailed them again and await their reply.

Best Adjustable Bed for the Price

First of all, I ordered a King Size Classic Brands Adjustable Bed Frame. After a lot of research going to different sites and looking through all the reviews for each of the adjustable beds, I decided to take the chance and order from Classic Brands. I have bad acid reflux during my sleep and had purchased a pillow wedge. However, I would always slide down during the night and wake up with a sore neck or back from sleeping incorrectly on the pillow. With this new bed, I can sleep with the head of the bed elevated just a little and not have to worry about sliding down.
Delivery: The delivery was for Noon to 3 PM. They arrived right at Noon. The Amazon Delivery folks were super nice. Normally they are suppose to bring it just right up to the door. I asked if they could take it to my master bedroom which is on the same floor just past the living room. They gladly did this and made my job very easy. The king size frame came in one large box that probably weighed close to 200 lbs. Picture attached.
Assembly/Set Up: I was worried about getting this frame because I did not know how complicated the set-up/assembly would be and I didn't want to spend hours trying to set this up. When I opened the box, I saw that the bed frame was in two different pieces, the head part and the foot part. It came with four boxes that were in between the two parts of the frames: 1.Legs, 2. Head Motor, 3. Foot Motor, 4. Remote Control. A simple color photo instruction book comes with the frame too.
The legs are put on first. You can utilize 3 different heights with the legs and it is very easy to install with an L Wrench that is provided. The heights are 1. 4 inches, 2. 6.5 inches, and 3. 10 inches. The middle legs are how the two frames are attached together. Pictures attached for the legs.
The next part was to put the motor into place. This was very simple to do. You cannot get the motors confused because they are two different sizes in length and can only be attached in one direction too. The motors are attached by a pin which makes the installation very easy.
Lastly, connect all the cords underneath which are color coded.
SO SURPRISED! The assembly only took about 30 minutes to put together. **2 PEOPLE REQUIRED** Although most of the installation was very easy, you still need 2 people. Mainly because the installation is done upside down and you will need to turn the bed frame over to the other side. Remember, the bed frame weighs about 200 lbs.
Pros:
1. Easy installation. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble and utilize.
2. The motor is very quiet and very smooth.
3. The massager for the head and foot works great, but that is not why I purchased this bed frame.
4. They provide all the tools needed to assemble. No other tools needed.
5. The remote is wireless and easy as just putting in the batteries to connect.
6. 2 USB ports if you want to use them.
7. Works with foam mattresses or hybrid mattresses
Cons:
1. The USB port is in the middle of the bed. Kinda too far for me to use. It would have been better off closer to the head of the bed.
2. It is very heavy but that means it is sturdy too.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this purchase. I have used it for one night and love it. I have so much control of the height of the head of the bed unlike my pillow wedge which was too high. I would recommend this bed for anyone that needs to adjust their bed in any way. My mother came over to look at it and she purchased a queen size for herself. The king size adjustable bed is just what I needed.
