Too bright for a nightlight.

I'm "elderly" and use this in our en suite bathroom. It's so bright, it's like having the ceiling light on. I've put tape across the surface to dim it a bit. I'm not saying it's bad, and maybe this is what some people want, not me. Look somewhere else if you're just looking for a little bit of light to guide you at night.

These little lights are just bright enough to light your way but they won't light up your whole room. I like the nice bright white color. It fits securely in the socket and doesn't get hot or anything. My 2 year old nephew gets a kick out of the motion detector! My room and bathroom are in the basement so my nightlights tend to stay on all day as well as night unless the lights are turned on. I don't know how long they will last like that but I never remember to unplug them! One thing I will say is that last night the main lightbulb in the ceiling of my bathroom went out and I am out of bulbs. The little nightlight was bright enough for me to get ready for bed (as seen in the picture). So 5 stars!

I wanted something to light up the hallway without being so bright to blind me when I had to get up to let the puppy out at night. These turn themselves on and off with the dimness of the surrounding light, so they are just plug in and forget it! Nice soft glow that lights up the area just enough I can see without being so bright to "wake me up" when I'm stumbling around half asleep to let the puppy out and don't want to fully wake up at 3am! My set of four, red nightlights arrived in good condition. I purchased them at a discount from the Amazon warehouse (probably a return). I don't like turning room lights on in the middle of the night, and occasionally walk into a closed door or, even worse, walk into a door edge on (yes, that hurt). Room lights would make moreawake and make it harder to fall back to sleep. These red lights are almost perfect for what I need -- bright enough to see, not bright enough to read. They are very noticeable (as almost any night light) during the day. It would help, if there was thin opaque white filter (e.g, cut from piece of tissue paper) over the red so it wasn't so visible in the main rooms. Also, sometimes the lights come on in the dimmer rooms when not needed. An adjustable level would be nice. I'd be glad to pay another dollar.
