It's kind of funny how hard it is to find an alarm clock in stores these days, so I was thrilled when I got the chance to pick this up at no charge in exchange for a review. I do like this clock very much, but I had to give it 4 stars because there are a few minor issues I've had to deal with.
-When you're setting up the clock, be sure to read the instructions thoroughly before trying to set up the clock. The buttons are quick, so I couldn't read the instructions as I was doing it because it only gives you a few seconds to set something (like the alarm or pre-setting the radio stations) before it goes back to the time. It took me a little longer to set up than with other alarm clocks I've owned.
-I've been having a heck of a time remembering how to turn the alarm off and on. It's quite different from older alarm clock radios where there's a switch in the back. With this one it involves hitting a few buttons in sequence to turn the alarm off or on. For now, I'm keeping the instructions handy until I get the hang of it.
-the plug in the back is in an awkward position because of the way it's designed, and when you plug it in, it kind of blocks the USB port. It's not an issue for me because I plug my phone in to the wall to charge. However, if you're getting this for the USB plug-in, you might have some trouble.
Now, on to the positives:
-I love the fact that it takes AAA batteries instead of 9 Volt like older alarm clocks do.
-You will get a lot more radio stations with this clock, and they are crystal clear.
-The display is huge! As someone who wears glasses, I can say that you won't have any trouble seeing the time when you don't have your specs on.
All in all, a pretty nice clock for the price. As I said, the issues I discovered were minor and not really a deal-breaker for me, but could be for someone else.
