Key features

  • UNIVERSALLY COMPATIBLE - All EK-Nucleus AIOs come with a universally compatible CPU water block, fitting all the latest Intel and AMD CPU sockets (LGA 1700 and AM5). The installation process is very straightforward, thanks to the included manual and mounting mechanism. This product requires enough space to mount a single slim 240mm radiator, making it compatible with almost all modern cases.
  • ADDRESSABLE RGB - Customize your all-in-one system to match your setup with its fully addressable RGB lighting effects. This closed-loop liquid CPU cooler offers a plug-and-play solution with a fan-like D-RGB lighting effect around the pump top for all who search for that perfect RGB AIO aesthetics.
  • NEW POSITIONING OF ROTARY FITTINGS - The AIO CR240 Lux comes pre-installed with reinforced and sleeved rubber tubing, now featuring finer threads. The fittings are covered with an aesthetic black radiator cover at the connection of the tubing and the radiator to ensure a sleek design and flushed line with the added fans. The improved position of rotary fittings on the other side, which are now placed next to each other, allows the EK-Nucleus AIO to be installed in even the tightest spaces.
  • ROTATABLE PUMP TOP - The top allows you to re-orient the D-RGB EK badge no matter in which direction the cooler is installed. The orientation can be changed in 90° increments, so if the cooler is installed upside down, rotate it 180 degrees to display the logo right side up. Regardless of the angle needed to install the AIO, it will always offer clean and aligned aesthetics.
  • HIGH-STATIC PRESSURE FPT FANS - FPT series fans aim to succeed the EK-Vardar fans completely, as they improve upon many aspects while maintaining focus on excellent radiator performance. FPT fans feature a full frame design that doesn't allow air to escape outside the frame and thus achieve overall better static pressure.

Make sure your case can handle 280 or you'll be disappointed

Let me preface this review by saying EK is some of the best out of the box quality stuff you will ever use. Aside from the slightly noisy fans and the small amount of gurgling from the pump on startup, this unit is top notch. It cools, it's fairly quiet, looks great, and is well made (not fans).
I bought this for a build to squeeze some extra cooling into a smaller space. Big mistake!! Apparently most case manufacturers are on the 120 scale (ie 120, 240, 360mm) and the AIO setups that go with them. 280 (140x2) means the radiator is a little wider and the fans are too. The fans are also slightly thicker, which leads to some fitment on mid and more compact towers in the front and back panel configurations. I had to switch cases 3 times in order to find one that worked with the configuration I wanted ( all claimed to be compatible with 280mm). Which I came to find out means they have the correct bolt pattern. 2 of 3 only allowed for top mounting and one of those 2 didn't even give enough clearance to an ATX mobo to mount it in any position.
After all that was sorted. The fans...if I could rank everything on this unit out 10 the fans would be a 2 and a 10 for literally everything else ( including the misc hardware). The fans feel cheap, had unfinished edges on the frame and blades, chatter at startup and use the 2 wire setup for power and led control (luckily case I ended up using had hubs for both). The only reason I gave them a 2/10 was they do move air efficiently so they don't sound like a jet engine on normal use. I have cranked them to max testing OCs and they might be loud but I can watch temps fall running cinebench.
Last thing, the gurgle. This might be an isolated thing, air is air, and EK ain't making air. It took alot of patience and support to bleed the air bubbles out of the pump. It sounded like blowing bubbles in a cup of water thru a straw for awhile. I know AIOs are bad about trapped air but usually they work themselves out or some careful tilting will allow them to escape. I even contacted Customer Support @EK. They were helpful but I ended up having to remove the CPU block and run it on jumper hanging out of the case until it went silent then reinstalled it on the CPU. The case never moves or gets tilted but if I turn the PC off for a few days when I turn it back on I can hear the pump gurgle for a minute then it's silent.
Would I recommend this to a novice PC builder, NO... Would I buy this again YES. But I think case manufacturers are still working out how to effectively fit it into their setups. A normal 360 AIO will fit nice into most mid towers now, but there are not as many 280 models out there so they are kind of the step child. EK is just ahead of the curve
Quality Construction All Around

Paired this with a Ryzen 7950X on an Asus x670e Extreme board in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case (PH-ES614PTG_BK). It is a tight fit, but I did manage to get it in and also keep the built-in control bay with the flip cover too without modification. I was also able to load up my three other front 5.25 bays too, although I had to place the shallowest one at the top and then also dremel the 3.5->5.25 bay adapter a bit in order to get it to fit comfortably in front of the CR360. Due to the mounting positions on the Enthoo case the radiator sits a bit further forward, but looking down from the top it is actually perfectly centered in the top dust filter cutout. I decided to mount the pump with lines on the bottom to minimize the stress and tension on the lines due to the positioning of the radiator with respect to the mobo. The top pump display is magnetic and can be rotated in a matter of seconds.

Build Quality: This thing just oozes quality, especially the radiator. Clean, sturdy, no cheap plastic anywhere. Everything impressed me from the overall packaging to even the quality of the manual!

Installation: Very straight forward once you determine the bracket and standoffs with the correct threads. The pump already has thermal paste evenly applied. Wiring is a breeze and their daisy chain system makes cable management a little less painful. Some others mentioned the top radiator threads were not cut 100% properly and they either had a hard time getting them started or had to break out a tap and die set to clean them up, but I did not have this issue. All screws and bolts threaded in without issue first attempt.

Performance: Extremely quiet at idle (speeds under 30%). At 100% the fans are quite loud (like jet engine loud), but with this cooler (and no PBO!) I haven't gone beyond 80 degrees yet at stock. While doing normal tasks the fans range from 30%-60% based on my curves, and it does become noticeable, but it's still quieter than my old AM3 system with a single fan Corsair AIO! I have not yet benchmarked or stress tested my system as it's not fully complete yet, but I feel confident with my choice in this cooler.

Oh, and I haven't had time to play with ARGB in Aura yet for any of my components, so the review picture attached shows the default rainbow pattern for everything. That said, the LED brightness and diffusion look to be spot on.
Great AIO to cool any high end cpu

This AIO is great. I have tried different AIO brands and thus EK is so far the best one. Cooling performance is great! Keeps my 13700K around 30-32 degrees Celsius at idle and 65-70 degrees during normal usage and some stress test. Way lower than other AIOs! The build quality is great, although the white paint is a bit...warm? I would have liked the white color to look more white but at least is only the radiator and really unnoticeable. The tubes that connect the radiator to pump have a nice white color. So is just me been VERY PICKY about this. As a computer enthusiast I put attention to those details. As I said before, build quality is great. Every part is made of high quality materials. I love the installation hardware, so easy and simple to use. The fans are great! Please don't change them! The fans running at 1200 rpm make CERO NOISE. And I mean this thing is super silent. Of course above that speed any fan makes some noise but this ones even at full speed are not very loud. And the cooling performance is great also. The PUMP IS ABSOLUTELY SILENT, and I mean at full speed no noise, nothing, super silent. I'm so impressed by that. I had to return an AIO, from a certain vendor, because the pump was crazy loud!!! Even though that AIO is way more expensive, this one is much much better. My closing thoughts are this: BUY THIS AIO IF YOU CAN, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

Great and beautiful cooler with some room for improvement

This aio right out of the box is premium quality. The waterblock itself is made of solid machined metals with a very nice finish you'll notice right of the bat. So It does have a bit of weight to it compared to others on the market. Not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion but everyone has different opinions so keep that in mind. Fittings on the aio are also metal and appears to be screwed on so they are probably removable just like any other ek products are. The tubing is nice and sturdy looking and feels great. It does have a bit more stiffness to it compared to my other cooler. It is recommended to read the manual to install this aio because it has a unique mounting system compared to traditional brackets. Little bit different standoffs as well for both amd and intel. So you might need to change your intel backplate to use this cooler depending on the model of intel you have. Am4 uses the traditional backplate. The manual goes into easy to understand steps with pictures to help you with installation which is pretty nice. Everything about this product screams quality. My previous cooler was a kraken z73 360mm. Watching my temps compared to the other cooler I have been seeing a 5-10 degree difference so it definitely cools better and is way quieter than the kraken. Comes with 6 ek vardar rgb fans compatible with major motherboard lighting softwares such as mystic light, fusion rgb, and asus aura along with the rgb ek logo on the block. Should sync up with your rgb header perfectly. Reason it comes with 6 fans is for a push pull configuration if your case supports it. If not, well you got some extra rgb fans to throw in your case elsewhere or not use them at all if you wish. Killer deal if you ask me because they are great fans. Also comes with a fan/rgb hub for the fans and rgb to make it more convenient for you and keep your cables a little bit neater in your case. Very thoughtful of them. The aio also compared to others on the market has a refill cap on the radiator to refill it with water later down the line saving you some money in the long run. Other manufacturers don't have that and basically forces you to buy a new one. Keep in mind that removing the radiator cap will void your warranty brand new so don't do it unless needed. What's also nice is the block comes with pre applied thermal paste and even a small tube of extra thermal paste for replacement later down the line. Also comes with extra hardware in case you loose a screw or two and some extra cables that look like extensions. So overall it's a solid product so far. Now for the things I didn't like that I'd like to see ek improve on. Depending on your ram, clearance might be an issue because of the fittings on the water block. I was running 64gb of rgb trident z neo 3600 mhz ram. I had to downgrade to 32gb because the 4th stick wouldn't clear the fitting closest to the ram because of its cylinder shape. So unless you got high clearance ram, it will be an issue. Ek could have prevented that putting a flat clearance slot on the waterblock fitting closet to the ram. Now the only way around that would to rotate the block 180 degrees which would put your tubes in the other side of the ram. Which leads me to my other issue. It appears they designed the block to have the fittings next to the ram with the radiator tubes coming down the right side of your case instead of the left. I tried the left and the tubes are a bit too long for it to look good and if your ocd like me, the logo being upside down or facing the opposite way than it should be just bothers me. Ek could improve that maybe offering a left and right side variation, maybe little bit shorter tubes, and maybe do what other manufacturers do with a rotatable block to keep the logo where it should be. They could do a rotatable logo maybe too if the whole block rotation won't work. Another thing I noticed is the fans don't have rubber vibration dampers. You have to buy those separately from Amazon or ekwbs site which I think it's kinda annoying as well. Didn't really affect me all that much though because I have be quiet fans in my case. With those minor nitpicks aside, it's a solid beautiful product, just needs a little bit more improvement to be perfect. Overall I'm happy with it and the compromise of having 2 ram sticks instead of 4 doesn't affect me all that much. 32gb of ram is plenty for gaming. 64 might be a bit overkill for gaming but hey it looks good lol. Overall, I'd recommend this cooler for someone looking for a high quality cooler.
