The thermostat is in the very top of the unit, or that is my guess. If you let your take drop an inch you will get faulty readings .

It's really nice having digital readout of the temp at all times. Being able to adjust the temperature from outside the tank is also a great feature.

I actually like this heater and thought it worked well for the month it was functioning. The con is it stopped heating within a month. The pro is it stopped working on the last day I could return for a refund or replacement. I opted to get a replacement since as I mentioned I do like this heater. Let's hope the replacement doesn't breakdown after a month.
