-took me a while to figure it out; the first 2 set of instructions didn't work for me because the garage door is so old, both it and my remote control doesn't has a program button to press for programming. finally read thru all the instructions, and the 3rd (and last choice) to program the keypad works without the programming button. (Again, My remotes and old 1997 genie bluemax doesn't have a program button to press for programming.) If you are having the same problem, Go to the 'program the initial pin for 12 dip switch' and it programs.

Replaced Genie Keypad for my 2010 Genie door opener. My door opener has a single learn button with a single red LED. For the last step, Step #5, it tells you to press the up down arrows button slowly 3-4 times until the door opener lights flash or two clicks are heard. I didn't see the flashing lights on the opener and apparently did not wait long enough between each press of the keypad button. I did it again, more slowly and saw the keypad red LED light flash and there were two beeps after it was pressed. Make sure you see or hear this before each press of the button. On the third press of the button the door started to open. It is a perfect replacement.
