I originally got this cast iron grill plate for my grill but I've been using it on my glass stove top to make pancakes, grill steaks when it's raining, heat tortillas, and char my veggies for salsa. It's as easy to clean as any cast iron pan is. Just remember to season it every so often so it doesn't lose its nonstick abilities. I love it!

We've added this to our camping supplies so we have yet to test it (we will next month) but by all appearances it should more than adequately serve it's purpose. It is true cast-iron, not some lightweight coated knock-off. It fits perfectly on my portable Weber gas grill and I can't wait to cook up some pancakes and bacon on this bad-boy in the morning and throw some burgers and dogs on the other side for lunch of dinner. We also like to do soft tacos when camping and this will work for those as well.

I love cast iron for cooking while camping. This griddle could not have fit more perfectly. I like that you have a flat surface on one side and ridged on the other. I you like your food to have grill lines, the ridged side is the one to use. The other thing I like about this is that there is a good ridge to keep the drippings and grease contained in the pan on both sides. Cooking up here in bear county (Montana), you don't want your grease spilling all over your campsite because, well, there are bears in bear country.
The two things I would recommend for any cast iron purchase are:
1. if you don't know how to season cast iron, spend a little time online to learn how. It gives cast iron a nonstick surface that you can maintain for years.
2. Make sure you have some oven mitts or pliers around to adjust the grill if needed.
This is well made and should last for many camping adventures to come. I may even bring it into my house in the off-season.

I bought this to use on my stove, which has the standard American four corners layout. I learned pretty quickly that while this product is well made and easy to work with, it also requires a little careful attention to heat. I have a gas stove with metal racks on each burner, so it's easy for me to balance on top of two burners, but if I'm not careful with my settings, I can cause some pretty tragic heat imbalance. I want to be clear that that's on me; I'm not a chef, I'm not even a Waffle House employee. I'm just a dude. I'm gonna give this a four star rating; I think it could be considered a five star depending on the purchaser's cooking skills. Overall, I'm very happy with it, and I look forward to practicing on it.
