I bought a set before and worked great. I bought a new set and the light won't turn off unless I shine my cell phone's flashlight directly on the sensor. Plenty of light with ambient lighting in the house... not an issue with the older set I have (I even swapped them to check). I exchanged it and the replacement worked as advertised. I really liked it.

I love these! They are the perfect lights for seeing the area in dark areas and at night. I love the convenience of freeing the outlets for use but still providing light. Worth the money!! Easy to use.

It appears that I'm going to have to turn off the power and flip the outlet 180° so that this product will work. I'm not sure yet if that's the problem. When I looked at where the contacts are supposed to go I think that the original installer left paint on the contacts. I did get it to work but I had to pull the cover out from the wall an unacceptable eighth of an inch. It's clear there's nothing wrong with this product but rather the outlet I'm trying to install these onto.

These are a very clever invention and I'm hoping that I can get it to finally work. These are absolutely perfect for bathrooms and outlets that are in hallways. There's no point in putting this behind a chair where it's very dark. The outlet will be lighted all the time which is not something you want.

I definitely recommend these. I just have to pull one or two sockets out of the wall and clean them up. After that I'm quite sure that this product will work.

Lesson. It may not be the product but rather the outlet you're trying to attach it to

I've used these outlet cover lights for years. They are remarkably reliable, provide enough light to see my gray American tiger cat on our dark rug at night.

They also provide enough night light without being annoyingly bright. They work really well once you get them installed.

Even on newer construction, these outlet lights can be challenging to install despite manufacturers claims otherwise because you never know what issues are going to arise.

I decided to add 2 new lighted covers and I wanted black covers. I swapped out the white outlets with new black Lutron Claro outlets - allegedly the best outlets on the market. See the photos.

The problem was that the new Lutron Claro outlets now have "wings" on the sides that I believe protect the screw connectors behind them. But the "wings"
push the lighted outlet cover connectors too far out to connect to the outlet and they won't light up. See the photos.

I had to "notch" the new Lutron outlet "wings" using a small saw to make initial cuts and then a razor knife to score the part I wanted to remove. I used a pair of pliers to wiggle a section of the "wings" loose. Once again, see the photos.

After that, everything worked properly. I pre-notched the second Lutron receptacle and installing that was simple because I had resolved the issue.

Moral of the story is sometimes these covers install in. 2 minutes and sometimes it's 30 minutes or more,
even with decades of DIY experience.

These lights are excellent for usability and longevity but be prepared for anything installation wise when they arrive. Hope that helps!
