Great tamper for small jobs

Okay, so here are the two questions you're probably asking yourself. Is there any possible way a trash tamper could be worth fifty bucks? And is a trash tamper something I should actually spend fifty bucks on?
Well, with conditions, I think the answer to both of those questions is yes. And those conditions are, of course, how important is $50 to you, and how much trash do you generate.
If $50 is super important to you, then I would pass on this tamper. If you are a single person who generates very little trash, then I would pass on this tamper.
However, if you're like me and you have several people in your household who generate a good deal of trash, and A LOT of cardboard that needs to be recycled, then I would buy this tamper without hesitation.
And I would buy it without hesitation because it really is an awesome tamper. I can't imagine it ever breaking. This thing is super beefy and heavy, and it competently does exactly what it was designed to do. I like it a lot. I recommend it highly.

This is a good heavy duty tamper. It works well to smash down trash or to tamp down dirt or rock in your yard. I've used it to firm up a patio area I am preparing for a new patio surface.

I have been needing to re-do my homemade firepit in my backyard for quite some time now, but I was putting it off because I knew there was no way I could handle one of those big heavy tampers, and I was not sure how I was going to work around it. This tamper worked perfectly for what I needed. I was able to put this together in a matter of minutes. You put the pole in and slip in the screw and you are ready to go. I had no issues with alignment on this. I have also used it to stuff down the boxes in my trash can and it worked even better because I was able to actually lift it up and put it in the trash can with ease. This is a good multi-purpose tool that can be used around the house.

What you see is exactly what you get. I didn't include pictures because the listing does a great job of showing you the tool in great detail. The tool is made of quality materials, and has a very comfortable foam grip handle. It's a good weight, but not so heavy that it isn't manageable. I use this as a substitute for having to put my foot in and out of the bag to compress raked up leaves. Not aggressively, just enough to compress the leaves down some. Saves me a lot of effort. Personally I wouldn't use it to smash down trash bags in a trash receptacle, I think that would only serve to tear open the bags and make a huge mess. It can also be used as a soil tamper for small paver stone projects etc. Some mentioned it was difficult to affix the handle to the base, but I just made sure to line up the holes prior to inserting the handle and I had no issues. This is just about as well made as a piece of flat metal and a handle could be. Use it for just about whatever you want to squash.
