Tray is recessed making it difficult to use larger projectors

The tray works very well for medium to small size projectors. It would work better for projectors that are roughly the size of the tray if it were not for the lip that sticks up. The lip is great for preventing the projector from falling, but it also makes it difficult to use projectors that extend beyond the lip.
Otherwise, the tray is fairly solid with no flex to it when pushing on one corner of the tray.
It comes with a thin foam that can be used to cushion the projector somewhat. Not really necessary, but it can also hide the screws attaching to the tripod from being seen.
The band used to hold the projector is your standard band and does not need to be used. In fact, nothing holds it in place and can be taken off completely.
