When I used this item, I set it on 10 for 60 minutes. It never felt like it got very warm, nor did the timer turn off automatically. That being said, it is alright for a temporary solution. Although this particular one might be defective, I plan to keep it. When I took it off, I did like the way my hair felt and how easy it was to manage. It definitely helped with detangling, in that my hair was hydrated, soft, and easy to comb through.

Not sure how this "thermal heat cap" is a "hair steamer" but I can say after sitting here for 45 mins with the temp set at 10, my hair is not steamed. However I do like this WAYYYY better than sitting under the hooded dryer for a deep conditioning process. It is convenient because it's not big and noisy and it fits directly on your head. So for the price, it's a decent buy if it doesn't stop working after so many uses. Also the highest temperature is STILL not as hot as a hooded dryer. I would highly recommend scan and activate the warranty JUST IN CASE something does happen but my review so far it's worth the money. I just wished it didn't say this was an actual hair steamer.

This hair steamer is great! It gets pretty hot too. I had it set on 10 (the highest setting), and it actually got pretty hot, so I turned it down to 8. I used this along with a homemade hair mask, and it was a perfect addition! It also came with plastic caps to protect the inside from getting dirty. I definitely recommend! :)

This is my first time trying this out at home. I've gotten this done at the beauty salon before, but never at home.. it was very easy to use. It comes with the shower cap and it worked very well for me. I washed and conditioned my hair. I put the shower cap on to my head. I plugged up and turned on this here heating pad. I kept it on for 30 minutes after the 30 minutes I rinsed my hair and it turned out really nice like at the salon. This product worked well for me.
