This filter is pretty effective at eliminating impurities from most sources of water. I've used it a few times while outdoors and I'm satisfied overall. The setup is relatively easy and the pumping process is pretty straightforward as well. The materials used are stainless steel. They're durable and seem like they can withstand a drop or two.

The pump can be leaky at times. While there's no substantial leakage while using, there is a small amount. Overall, it's still a great pump and an even better tool to have around in the case of emergencies or traveling outdoors with unfiltered water.

I saw this RO water filter advertised for hiking and didn't look very closely at the photo of it in use. So when I received it, I was surprised at how large and fairly heavy it is. I'm pretty sure I'd never take this hiking as it would add a lot of weight and bulk. However, it would really shine in an emergency or car camping situation.

With smaller water filters made for hiking, it can get very tiring to pump a small handle many times. But this filter has a nice large handle with good leverage to push water through those very tiny pores that results in 0.0001 micron filtration. This is the filter I would want handy in an emergency situation such as a flood or even a nuclear disaster. I could filter a good bit of water for myself and my family/friends with a unit like this. This filter is going in my bug out bag for emergency use.

The filter comes with a little 16oz bag for the filtered water if you wish to use it and also a nice zippered storage case that keeps filter with the hoses and filtering bag. It's a very nice and seemingly well-designed unit that I would feel confident relying on during an emergency when drinking water is hard to find.

The Portable Reverse Osmosis Water Filter by FS-TFC, is a great concept and a way to provide the necessary pressure needed for Reverse Osmosis, in a conveniently compact design. With its big claims of 0.0001 MICRONS filtration and impressive performance, this is a worthy consideration. Here are some of the things I've learned while owning it and a few things to consider before buying.

I. Quality "“ It feels very well made out of solid materials. The outside is a very durable stainless steel and the tubes feel strong enough to last for a while. I'd put this one in the lower side of the upper tier on the quality scale for portable water filters and guess it should last me a long time.
II. Performance "“ This is a tough one to analyses without real testing of the water before and after. I've used it on some very murky lake water that you can't see more than a foot or two and it came out very clear. Just using my eyes and taste buds it appears to work very well. The water came out better than my tap water and leaves me confident that it should work great in an emergency. The replacement filters are currently a fair price and available from the same company. The size is definitely portable and fits in a backpack nicely, but larger than ideal at about 14 inches long. It reminds me of the old grease guns for the joints of the car underneath.

Overall, this was a great choice that's portable and can provide me with a large amount of filtering power, performed without much effort. I'll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

I have a few different water purifiers for camping and prepping for hurricanes season. Definitely glad to add this one to my arsenal. Clean water is very important and being in Florida during storm season this is a lifesaver.

Does what it does. Definitely can help out in case of emergency if you need to filter water.
